UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones holds a curious position in the organization. Despite not fighting in over a year, he still holds the title. Recently, UFC CEO Dana White declared him the No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world. However, this designation was met with some confusion just weeks later as Jones himself expressed doubts about it.
In a recent social media post shared by a sports page, a tag mentioned, “These 4 in a room, who comes out alive?” featuring legendary fighters, including Jon Jones and a world-famous strongman. In the comment section, Jones expressed his view on the matchup.

Jon Jones is one of the key personalities in the UFC who remains active on social media and doesn’t hesitate to leave his remarks in the comment box. Recently, a sports meme page shared a post featuring photos of four legends: Brock Lesnar, Francis Ngannou, Jon Jones, and British strongman Eddie Hall.
In the comment section, Jon Jones humorously asked for the size of the room, commenting, “I’m gonna need the dimensions of this room.” This contrasts directly with Dana White’s claim last month after Islam Makhachev successfully defended his lightweight title against Dustin Poirier for the third time at UFC 302.
While White praised Makhachev as a great fighter, he denied that he was the pound-for-pound number one fighter. White reiterated his stance on Bones, calling him the best fighter of all time. He said, “Jon Jones is absolutely, positively the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world and probably the greatest fighter of all time in any sport.”

White further stated, “When you talk about who is the baddest dude in the world, you put two guys in a room, and who walks out, Jon Jones walks out of the room every f**** time. No question about it.” After hearing the words of appreciation from his boss, Jon Jones also reacted to it on social media.

Jones responds to Dana White
Dana White emphasized why Jon Jones deserves the top spot, revealing it’s not just because of his domination in the light heavyweight division throughout his career. It’s also due to the fact that Jones moved to the heavyweight division and delivered a performance against Ciryl Gane similar to what he did in the light heavyweight division.
After hearing White’s remarks, Jones was overcome with gratitude for the heartfelt words. He took to X and wrote, “It felt awesome to get that level of recognition from the boss, the man that’s literally been here since UFC 1. I know the haters are not gonna like his comments but Dana’s a pretty hard person to argue with. Dana White has had a front-row seat to my entire career, facts are facts.”
