Joe Rogan watched UFC 294 and had a lot of things to say about it. In a new episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, the podcaster and color commentator laid bare his thoughts about a certain fight. During the pay-per-view, Johnny Walker went up against Magomed Ankalaev toward an unexpected ending. An official doctor called the fight off after inspecting Walker.

Even Dana White called the official doctor “inexperienced” in his press conference; however, he still went along with his decision. Rogan watched the match-up with his fellow guests and couldn’t hold back his ideas about it. If Rogan had been in charge of the fight, the outcome would have been starkly different from what we actually got. Here’s what the podcaster had to say about the fight.

Johnny Walker’s fight against Ankalaev didn’t last too long. When his opponent ended up landing an illegal knee on his head, the doctor ran to Walker’s aid. The fight came to a halt while the official doctor spoke with Walker. Once their conversation was over, so was the fight. This hasty decision was viewed as a lack of experience on the doctor’s part by Dana White.

The referee called it off, given that Walker had been declared unfit to keep going. The fight ended in a no-contest. Later, security poured in because the fighters were still trying to go at it. Even Dana White had to intervene to keep the two off of each other. Regarding the stopping of the fight, Rogan had different ideas.

“They should let them keep going,” said Rogan. “If I had that power, I’d do that. I’ll go sit the fu*k down, let’s keep this fight going. If it was bare-knuckle boxing they’d let them keep going.”

Clearly, putting Joe Rogan in charge of some of these fights could have entertaining results. especially for the fans present at the venue. However, the fight was called off, whether Rogan liked it or not. So what really went down between Walker and the doctor?

“His response was I’m in the desert,” White told the press regarding Walker’s response when he was asked where he was at the moment. That was convincing enough for the doctor to declare him unfit to keep going. Well, Walker technically was in Abu Dhabi but being in the desert wasn’t exactly the most ideal response. Perhaps something was lost in translation. Either way, the fight was gone and Joe Rogan just wouldn’t have it the same way. What would you do in Dana White’s position? Let us know in the comments.
