There’s absolutely no love lost between reigning light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira and former champion Jamahal Hill, who recently sent the UFC fandom into a meltdown due to an altercation at the UFC PI. Meanwhile, another former champion, Jiri Prochazka, gave his take on the incident, slamming ‘Sweet Dreams’ in the process.

When we take a look at the footage of the altercation, it was Hill who approached Pereira in a heated way. In return, ‘Poatan’ threw a pair of gloves towards the former champion’s way, asking him to get inside the cage to settle their differences once and for all. However, Hill decided not to proceed with that, and instead, threw verbal jabs at the current champion. Having witnessed the video, Jiri Prochazka didn’t seem impressed with Jamahal Hill.

If we know one thing about the Czech fighter, it’s that he lives a warrior lifestyle through and through, especially following the rules of a Samurai. As such, Prochazka claimed that ‘Sweet Dreams’ had the chance to get the heat out by fighting the Brazilian, which he didn’t, and deemed the Grand Rapids native as ‘not a warrior’, while siding with Pereira. “When he wanted to fight Alex and to speak with him a lot, he had to go to the cage and fight him there, but he didn’t do that,” Prochazka told ‘MMA Fighting’. “So, nonsense. Nonsense… Some of these guys [are] like… playing to be warriors, but they are not. That’s all.”

Prochazka kept his response short and sweet, but in the meantime, Jamahal Hill also opened up on confronting Alex Pereira. He claimed that the situation with ‘Poatan’ wasn’t as “serious” as many people believe it to be. Let’s see what the former champion had to say.

Jamahal Hill opens up on his altercation with Alex Pereira

During a recent interview, Jamahal Hill revealed that the heat between him and Alex Pereira at the UFC’s Performance Institute wasn’t something that he tried to intensify. Instead, things started to boil up when ‘Poatan’s translator, Pilino Cruz, stopped translating for Pereira, which led to their viral confrontation. Moreover, ‘Sweet Dreams’ assured that it wasn’t as bad as it seemed in the video because, for him, it was fun.

“After he [Pereira] said that last part he [translator] kind of stopped translating to me, he kind of stopped translating what he was saying to me,” Jamahal Hill told ‘Bodog Canada’. “The situation ain’t even that serious bro, it’s a fun interaction, I mean seeing that competitive fire is there, he’s down to go, I’m ready to step up and fight him…as ready to go, to step up and fight.”

Well, Hill needs to focus on Jiri Porchazka now, as they’re up to fight each other next at UFC 311 in January.
