With McGregor's toe looking good, are we about to witness his greatest comeback yet?

After a long time, Conor McGregor looks hungry, as he has posted another video of him working out, seemingly having recovered from his injury. ‘Notorious’, of course, has been out of action for the past three years and has been facing a decline professionally over the past half a decade. Having lost all but one of his four fights in the past six years, many believe his best days to be behind him.

All of these questions were scheduled to be answered one way or another at UFC 303 against Michael Chandler last month. But, the Irishman broke his pinky toe weeks from the bout, forcing him to pull out of a scheduled fight for the first time in his UFC career. McGregor has seemingly made a quick turnaround since then and seems determined to prove his critics wrong and prove his greatness yet again. The latest evidence that he has healed came as he posted a clip of him shirtless and in shorts, running in the streets of Dublin, training for his upcoming comeback, the timeline for which, as per his latest update, will be in 2024!

In the aftermath of former POTUS Donald Trump getting shot at during a recent political rally, McGregor and Chandler joined hands in wishing for his recovery and commending his bravery. McGregor also dropped a response to Chandler, writing on X, “I talked to Dana today about our new date, all looking good! 24’ for sure 👍🙏”

McGregor broke his leg three years ago in his trilogy bout against Dustin ‘Diamond’ Poirier at UFC 264, which has kept him out of action for so long. Last year, he appeared as head coach opposite Michael Chandler on ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ season 31 and was scheduled to fight ‘Iron’ as is customary for TUF contestants.

However, their bout kept running into problems, until Dana White finally announced at UFC 300 the McGregor-Chandler was set for UFC 303 on June 29. Only for it to fall apart yet again. But, ‘Mac’s recent workout videos have restored a lot of confidence among the fans. His latest clip of him running has gone down very well with the fandom, as they were glad to see him out and about, seemingly motivated and driven to make a triumphant comeback.

With McGregor's toe looking good, are we about to witness his greatest comeback yet?

Have an interesting take?

One fan was super excited, and felt the video proved that the time for McGregor’s victorious return was nigh: “Return of the Mac 🔥 is gonna be the greatest comeback in combat sports history 💯.” Another fan was delighted to see him out in the streets, training hard for his much-awaited return: “the king is back”

What is also interesting is that McGregor was running in shoes now. A while ago, ‘Mystic Mac’ told in an interview that he could not yet wear shoes since he was in recovery. He was also seen making public appearances in slippers. Quite recently, he posted images on his social media, where he was wearing shoes. Now, he is running in them. Clearly, his recovery seems to have gone according to plan.

This sentiment was shared by another commenter, who was equally as excited for the return of MMA’s biggest-ever star: “Mac is back in action let’s goo.” Another thought ‘Mac’ looked as spry and light on his feet as ever, and felt he had regained his old, graceful form: “Gliding like a gazelle.”
