The ever-controversial, Mike Perry is no stranger to chaotic and weird headlines. The former BKFC fighter always finds himself in the spotlight, however, this time, the limelight moment was with his wife, Latory Perry. The playful yet rowdy couple recently went viral for a drinking game called the ‘Hurricane Shot’. Gonzalez and Perry took a shot of vodka, but Gonzalez spat the vodka at Perry and delivered a resounding slap to his face before kissing him. Perry’s reaction? A grin, laughter, and perhaps a thought of love for his wife.

The video, shared by Mike Perry on his Instagram handle, was part of the couple’s New Year celebration and it was captioned, “When the ball dropped 2025 New years ! Heck of a way to start the year, at least it was with the LOML.” Well, the slap looked a bit too hard on Mike Perry and the internet couldn’t help but speculate-what if Latory’s slap gets an even larger stage to shine? Say, Power Slap?

Latory Perry supports her partner in every aspect, and recently, she intervened during an interaction with another BKFC star ‘El Gallo, holding Mike Perry back from escalating the situation further. The former BKFC champ and Latory Gonsalvez met back in 2020 following Perry’s divorce from Danielle Nickerson. The former UFC fighter credited Jon Jones for his endearing relationship with Latory. In a conversation with ‘CBS Sports’, Perry asserted “So I walked in and Jon Jones saw me and he smiled. He looked to his right and he saw Latory and he grabbed her hand and he grabbed my hand.”

It must be noted that back at UFC Vegas 4, it was only Latory Perry, who was cornering him in his fight against Mikey Gall. According to Latory Perry, ‘Platinum’ just said one thing to her in that fight, “sit there and enjoy the show.”, and Perry ended up winning the bout by way of a unanimous decision. Now that Perry is away from the active fighting world, ‘Platinum’ is making waves by promoting his own “Dirty Boxing” promotion, and his efforts have been quite successful.

Mike Perry is already a big-shot in the world of MMA and he was ruling the BKFC stage till Conor McGregor pulled in. The former BKFC champion appears to be a bit worried as Conor McGregor might have fired him from the promotion. While having a conversation with the Overdogs Podcast, Perry was convinced that the former UFC champ might have pulled the trigger on his career, “It doesn’t seem to be panning out, that’s what’s happening. I’m just like … fine, sure, like offer me somebody, tell me what’s going on. Tell me something! I guess Conor really did fire me. What the f*ck, where’s my fight at?’

However, his recent antics involving his wife have drawn strong reactions from fans. Many believe the fighter should ask Dana White to offer his wife a Power Slap contract. Let’s take a look at what the fans have to say.

Starting off, a social media user called out the UFC CEO Dana White for his slapping incident with his wife at a nightclub in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on December 31, 2022. “Dana watching this video thinking “How tf can you let that slide? I woulda man I woulda!” The UFC CEO was immensely called out by the media after the incident. Moreover, another social media user emphasized that Latory’s slap had the power to flinch Mike Perry’s platinum chin and that she should be handed over a Power Slap contract: ” I’ve seen enough… give her a power slap contract @danawhite.”

Regardless, another social media user joked that certain fighters could be dropped by that slap: “I can think of a few fighters that get dropped by that slap.”  Another fan reminded Mike Perry not to sign with the slap fighting promotion: “We better not see you getting into Power Slap next.” However, fans are more interested in seeing his wife compete in the infamous promotion: “Sign her up for @powerslap that was clean!”, and, “@latoryperry needs a slap contract, ASAP!”

Well, with a valuation of $750 million dollars, Power Slap would be a good career opportunity for Latory Perry considering the fact that she does have some combat sports history. Besides, does slap fighting really involve superior technique? It’s possible to see her in the promotion, but that’s a decision that rests with the UFC head honcho.
