Dana White recently made an appearance on comedian Theo Von‘s ‘This Past Weekend’ podcast. There, the UFC CEO mentioned an unusual thing that happened to him when he posted a video of Donald Trump. He shared it from one of his personal social media accounts. However, one of the UFC’s sponsors did not seem to like that and quickly asked White to get rid of it.
“I posted a video for Trump on my personal social media and one of our big sponsors calls to take that down,” said Dana White. However, the 54-year-old did not let that go easily.
White is a firm believer in the fact that everybody should have their say when it comes to supporting the person they favor the most. “You know what I said? ‘Go f*** yourself.’ You vote for whoever you wanna vote for and I’ll vote for whoever I wanna vote for. That’s how this works,” the UFC head honcho further declared.
Dana White also stated that such incidents keep happening on a regular basis. However, the only way that he believes it can go away is when people start standing up for what they believe in and not succumb to the pressure of others’ interests. White added, “It will keep happening unless more people stand up for themselves and give em’ the ‘f*** you’ response.”
When Dricus du Plessis came across this video clip, he was in awe of Dana White. He shared a story on Instagram and commended the UFC CEO for standing up for Donald Trump. “This is awesome respect [Dana White] [Donald Trump],” said ‘Stillknocks’. Also, these words of praise from the South African fighter came after Dana White kept his promise. Let’s take a look at that front.
Du Plessis beat Khamzat Chimaev for the middleweight title shot opportunity
Days before Khamzat Chimaev‘s fight against Kamaru Usman, there were speculations about the outcome of the fight. It was said that the winner of the co-main event of UFC 294 would go on to challenge Sean Strickland to fight for the middleweight title. With Chimaev winning the fight, people felt as if it was he who had the title shot in his grasp. However, that wasn’t the case.

Not too long ago, Dana White made some major announcements for the first three pay-per-views of 2024. He announced that Sean Strickland will take on Dricus du Plessis for the title. ‘Stillknocks’ was the initial contender for the middleweight title and he was supposed to fight Israel Adesanya. But his injury kept him out of action for a while. As such, the UFC CEO remembered that and reverted to the old plans for the 185lbs strap.
