Gilbert Burns is looking for another title challenge in his subsequent UFC fights. With a fight scheduled against former title challenger Jorge Masvidal at UFC 287 in Miami, Burns looks to put on a show against ‘Gamebred’. However, it will not be an easy task since Masvidal is looking to do the same to the Brazilian fighter that he intends for the BMF champion.
Burns looks certain with a roadmap toward the welterweight championship after UFC 287. He also made a case for himself as to why he should be the one getting the title shot before Colby Covington.

Burns added what will happen if he finished Masvidal. He continued by stating that he will have achieved what Colby Covington didn’t. The UFC welterweight also added that he would have finished Masvidal in lesser time than former champion Kamaru Usman.
The UFC welterweight said, “If I go out there and dominate this guy and finish what Colby didn’t do in this last fight, what took Kamaru (Usman) seven rounds to do. If I go out there in one or two (rounds), I think that says a lot. So we’ll see. We’re still 11 days to the fight, there’s work to do, but I’m confident that I’m going to finish Jorge Masvidal.”
