Donald Trump and Joe Rogan might finally be in the same boat! Well, it all began when Justin Trudeau dropped his resignation letter and stepped down from the post of the Canadian Prime Minister. This urged the President-elect to make an offer to unite Canada and the USA. But was the beloved UFC color commentator supportive of it all?
On the 6th of January, Trump took to X and shared a tweet, where he pointed out that there were many Canadians who wanted their country to become the 51st state of the USA. Well, Canada has seen its fare share of troubles, and the narrowing of the trade deficit to $255.15 million was just another drop in the ocean. Trump further joked that this was probably the reason why Trudeau stepped down. He wrote, “If Canada merged with the U.S., there would be no Tariffs, taxes would go way down, and they would be TOTALLY SECURE from the threat of the Russian and Chinese Ships that are constantly surrounding them. Together, what a great nation it would be!!!”
But the JRE host didn’t seem like he was up for it. Even though he endorsed Trump during his electoral campaigns, Rogan never really had some of his political views aligned with the President-elect. Nevertheless, he had an option ready to make the deal a bit sweeter. The 57-year-old podcaster took to Instagram and shared a screenshot of the President-elect’s post. In the caption, Rogan suggested an even greater border for the USA. He wrote, “I say we let Mexico in too.” Needless to say, it was all meant as a joke.

Most of the fans were against the notion of merging Canada with the USA. Of course, becoming the 51st state wasn’t the plan for most Canadian nationals. One fan confronted Rogan and wrote, “lol get your own house in order first…” Another fan commented, “As a Canadian I cannot tell you how much this repulses me. I don’t even want to go to the states and he wants us to be a state? Respectfully, no thanks homie.” One more comment read, “Yeah not totally on board with this, kind of like being a Canadian.”
Some of the fans were quick to express their disbelief at Rogan’s comment. One fan questioned, “Really JOE?” Another fan commented, “Joe this is some BS, I love you but grow up man.”
Mexicans showed the same sentiments. Merging Mexico with The United States wasn’t an option for most of them. One fan wrote, “nah thanks man ✌🏽we doing all right in México.” Another fan, seemingly an American, pointed out, “Joe, you post very few Ls but this is definitely one. We can’t even fix Chicago but you want to add Mexico.”

However, there were a few who stood in support of the merger, even though Trudeau confirmed that such a thing would never happen. One fan revealed the growth the American economy would witness after the merger and wrote, “if we added Canada & Mexico we would have the largest GDP by a landslide, largest military, and 3rd most populated country.” Meanwhile, another fan expressed his worries about the inflation in Canada and commented, “MO most Canadians would love this. Food, gas and etc… are super expensive in Canada and logistics are at least 10 years behind the U.S.”
