In recent months, Jon Jones has cemented his place as the greatest of all time (GOAT) of MMA for many like Joe Rogan. No fighter has been able to beat Jones in the octagon. And his move up to heavyweight and victory over Cyril Gane closed the book on the GOAT debate for many. The main argument is domination in the ring and no losses. Similar arguments are made for Khabib Nurmagomedov, too.
However, there is another perspective held by people like legendary boxing trainer and broadcaster Teddy Atlas and UFC heavyweight Tom Aspinall. They look at how fighters do when tested and come back from adversity and losses. And if that be our yardstick, there can be no doubt that Georges St-Pierre is arguably the MMA GOAT, having come back from losses against Matt Serra and Matt Hughes to avenge those defeats. And the Quebec native recently talked about how he would do against Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Georges St-Pierre was joined by Youtuber and computer scientist Lex Fridman to train and learn a few tips and tricks of grappling from one of the best grapplers around. GSP explained his approach to getting takedowns and told the MIT alumnus how it differs from ‘The Eagle’s style.
“Very often, I use one of my longest weapon as a decoy to get in your leg. I use my jab to create a distraction, then I can get in. Other guys, for example, like Khabib, are more like chain wrestlers. So I’m more of a dynamic [grappler]. Yeah, I like to explode. So that’s one of my strength. Khabib is very good, for example, very good technically, and he’s very strong in isometric strength I heard. So he’s very good with this style of wrestling,” he said.

GSP tells Fridman how he would do against Khabib Nurmagomedov
Fridman then asked GSP if the Canadian would be able to take down Nurmagomedov if the two went against each other. GSP was confident that he would be able to take the Dagestani, but added that the former lightweight champion could do the same to him. “I think I could [take Khabib down], yeah… I think he could take me down as well,” the 42-year-old told Fridman.
