For all the ardent fans of the UFC, the name Georges St. Pierre holds a special place in their hearts. In his 15-year-long MMA career, GSP has kept us intrigued with his fair share of rivalries. While most of them seem to have gone with time, the one with the legendary BJ Penn is still simmering up at least at one end.

Recently BJ Penn went on Instagram with serious accusations of “Rush” using performance-enhancing drugs and tricking his way to make weight. In a post that seemed to be by a fan claiming GSP as the greatest of all time (GOAT), Penn went on saying “Using the mask to have other people weighing for him and using steroids insulin growth hormone blood doping epo, and whatever else we don’t even know that exist, but its not like he had to take the drug test because the guy in the mask takes drug test for him obviously! You know the rules if u wanna be the goat, you can’t break them”

Penn and Pierre have met twice inside the octagon with both the time Canadian getting his hands raised. Their first meeting was in 2006 at UFC 58, where GSP scored a split-decision victory over Penn. Their second fight took place for the welterweight title, where GSP stopped Penn at the end of round number four via TKO. The former two-division champion has ever since been very vocal about the allegations he accuses GSP of.

Other fighters like BJ Penn accusing GSP of cheating

St. Pierre has always been dismissive of any such accusations. Apart from Penn, other fighters like the Diaz brothers have also accused GSP of stooping to poison Nick Diaz’s IV. In his famous interview with Joe Rogan, GSP jokes, “I was so scared of fighting Nick Diaz that I poisoned his IV but he survived so I was even more terrified. You know. So all the athletic commission was on my payroll so I tricked the way in, and I made the weight. So then I was even more terrified. Then the aliens abduct me and put gamma rays in me to make me as strong as Hulk like a performance-enhancing drug. Fight was still happening But I was still terrified so I put cement and glass on my gloves.”

There has never been a time where “Rush” was officially charged/caught with any such usage of PEDs. GSP’s blood samples are in fact the very first ones at the WADA’s Sports Medicine and Research Testing Laboratories (SMRTL) as ‘benchmark’ samples to compare other blood samples. New blood samples are often tested against those older ones to see if there has been anything different in the recent ones.

With accolades like GSP’s and with a legacy that stands so strong, it’s very easy for such accusations to be put under as just conspiracy theories. Most of the fans were quick to fire back at Penn for his post while some even suggesting him to seek mental health. How do you see Penn’s remarks and what would you say to Penn over these accusations, let us know in the comments section.
