UFC Hall of Famer Georges St-Pierre has held titles in two different UFC divisions. He has beaten everyone he has fought against and holds several amazing UFC records. Many UFC fans and pundits regard GSP as the greatest MMA fighter in the sport’s history.
However, the former UFC double champion claimed that the greatest fighter of all time is not born yet. In an episode of Lex Fridman’s podcast, GSP said, “I believe the best fighter, the GOAT, is not even born. Because the generation that is present benefit of a huge advantage. They have knowledge technology that we didn’t have before.”

“And we had the knowledge that the other generation didn’t have before. But I believe the best the GOAT is not even born yet. As good as they are today, I think in sport, where you can measure the performance, like track and field, Olympic lifting, you know someone is better than the other one. Because you can measure the performance.”

“Fighting is all subjective…I don’t think it’s because the athlete necessarily get better. It’s because they have access to better technology, knowledge, and they learn from their predecessor.”
As the quality of fighters will improve in the future, there is no doubt that St-Pierre may have a point. However, while a GOAT may not be around, ‘Rush’ surely will have a favorite in various forms of combat sports.

In the podcast, GSP also discussed the use of trash talk before UFC fights with Lex Fridman, martial arts coach John Danaher, and submission grappler, Gordon Ryan.

At a point in the conversation, GSP revealed that his all-time favorite boxer is Sugar Ray Leonard. The UFC Hall of Famer believes that Leonard was the best boxer of his era- skill-wise.

Later in the conversation, GSP also claimed to have learned a few things from the boxer, including how to be calm in the face of an opponent using emotion as a weapon to throw you off balance.
