Jack Della Maddalena is about to get the biggest chance of his life by fighting for the welterweight belt at UFC 315, but not without setbacks. He had to start a fundraiser to pay for travel expenses for his team. But the silver lining came sooner than later, and he announced via X that UFC was paying for his team’s expenses. The 17-2-0 Aussie star is getting a big chance as he fights for the title, and trash-talking is already afoot as ‘Remember the Name’ took a jibe at JDM for fundraising to come to Canada with his team. Belal Muhammad took a jibe at his unfortunate state and posted on X, “Just when I was gonna donate to your fundraiser so your coaches can come …enjoy Spirit Airlines.”
Naturally, the undefeated UFC 7 fight winner was not going to sit silently and decided to take a jibe at Muhammad’s “boring” fighting style. ‘Remember The Name’ is already the focal point of criticism by MMA fans for having a “dull” fighting style, and the Aussie largely agrees with this notion. He got the chance to take a jibe at his opponent’s bland style of fighting and compared it to Georges St Pierre’s.
While speaking to Niko Pajarillo, JDM dunked on the Palestinian-American champion’s style, saying, “It’s no question he got a boring fight style. He’s good at holding people down and getting victories. GSP got flak back in the day for being a boring style. I think it’s a boring style, but winning is his number one goal, and fair play to him. But I feel like I can beat him.”

🚨JDM Calls Belal Muhammad’s Fight Style Boring, Compares Criticism to GSP😲
“It’s no question he got a boring fight style. He’s good at holding people down and getting victories. GSP got flak back in the day for being a boring style. I definitely think it’s a boring style, but… pic.twitter.com/v3NC1qeu4k

As for GSP, he didn’t disagree, despite being considered one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time. “I agree with the criticism,” St-Pierre told The New York Post. “I want to do better. I want to give more entertainment to the fans.” Muhammad’s coach, Louis Taylor, fired back JDM’s claims about Muhammad. While speaking to Parry Punch’s Jacob Castro, he said, “I mean, unfortunately, the MMA community has taken upon making Belal one of the most disliked – or they want to say boring – but Belal’s only boring to people who don’t understand or have a high fight IQ.”

Muhammad is undefeated in 11 fights, with a 24-3-0 record along with a 6 fight winning streak in UFC. Yet, he widely is considered to have a one-note fighting style. But why? A peek at his record at Tapology page reveals the reason—a 79% decision rate in the UFC, with a 7% submission rate and a 14% KO/TKO rate. Despite being an elite fighter, the lack of entertaining finishes is what makes the fan tick. Meanwhile, after being bullied by ‘Bully B’ regarding the fundraising, JDM has a plan to finish Muhammad.
Jack Della Maddalena is confident about beating Belal Muhammad at UFC 315
Muhammad might have only six finished on his MMA record, but it’s not easy to finish him. Vicente Luque was the only who knocked Muhammad out, but that was almost 9 years ago. However, JDM expects to do the same to Muhammad, what Luque did. “Eyes on the price, stoked the UFC has put their trust in me to save the division. This will be done in 1 no doubt,” Jack Della Maddalena wrote in a post on Instagram.

The fight with JDM was completely unexpected for the fans, especially since it’s Muhammad’s first title defense, but ‘Giacomo’s’ undefeated record speaks for itself. The #5 welterweight is confident about his skills and made the bold prediction of finishing Muhammad.
In fact, ‘Remember the Name’s’ rival Leon Edwards picked JDM as well for the winner. While speaking to Ariel Helwani, ‘Rocky’ stated, “If I had to put money on it, I’d probably favor JDM. If I had to put money on it. Yeah, if I had to put money on it. I feel like – I don’t know, actually, I don’t know. 50/50. I wouldn’t put any money on none of them. I don’t know.” Do you think JDM will succeed in taking the belt from Muhammad? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
