Conor McGregor is an entertaining man. He has been responsible for some of the greatest trash-talk moments in UFC history. His effortless verbosity, quick wit, and willingness to cross all lines make him a dangerous man to duel with verbally. This is part of the reason that the Irishman is the most popular fighter in MMA history.

And it seems that he is a natural entertainer not only out of the cage but in the cage, too. Max Holloway faced another little-known fighter with big aspirations in the featherweight division in 2013- Conor McGregor. McGregor defeated Holloway in his second fight at the UFC via a unanimous decision. And Holloway revealed a funny incident from that fight on Andrew Schulz‘s ‘Flagrant’ podcast.

Holloway began by saying he did not think Conor McGregor hit hard. The 31-year-old recalled an amusing moment in his fight with the Dubliner.

“In that fight, the funny moment was he took me down and I had him in half guard, and he was passing and I had like, his ankle, and right when he would pass, I like, hit him and that’s how he hurt his knee in the fight,” he said.

He recalled having McGregor in a half-guard and hitting the Irishman’s knee, which prompted a scream from him. Holloway, like a true gentleman, stopped and asked if McGregor was okay and was told to keep fighting by him.

“He hurt his knee and he was screaming like, ‘Ahhh,’ like, a hurtful scream. So I’m like ‘Are you okay? He’s like, ‘Yeah, keep fighting mate,” Holloway told Schulz.

McGregor responded in a tweet, promising he is never retiring, and they are “defo fighting” in the future. McGregor has seemingly already planned his next three fights. He will fight Michael Chandler next, then Justin Gaethje for the BMF belt followed by a trilogy with Nate Diaz, if all goes to McGregor’s plan.
