The heavyweight champion recently appeared in an interview with DAZN Boxing and broke his silence on his thoughts of renewing his UFC contract.

Ngannou wants to take on the boxing legend Tyson Fury in a boxing match, which will get him a huge payout. However, this boxing match may cause Ngannou to not re-sign with the UFC if the contract restricts him from fighting outside of the promotion.

Ngannou said,” I would like something. Let’s say something like Conor and Mayweather did. You know, I think it will be more viral with the UFC supporting that.”

The interviewer questioned Ngannou if it is safe to say he will resign with the UFC. To that, the fighter replied,” from where we are, nothing is safe to say.”

He added,” I’m 35 years old, bro, and it’s not like I have a lifetime ahead of me, you know. I’m very aware of my age and the stage of my career. And if I really want to do this, I think it’s the time to do it. But I don’t see why that shouldn’t be possible for them (UFC) as well.”
