Saying Alex Pereira has taken the UFC by storm might actually be underselling it. Pereira hasn’t just impressed—he’s left jaws on the floor, including those of Dana White and his fellow fighters. In record time, he’s become the fastest fighter in UFC history to claim titles in two different divisions. While the UFC buzzes around Pereira’s dominance, former champ Francis Ngannou, despite being outside the promotion, has been keeping a close eye on him—and ‘The Predator’ has officially joined the Pereira fan club, dishing out some serious praise for the Brazilian powerhouse.

As Pereira gears up to defend his title for the third time against Khalil Rountree at UFC 307, things are heating up outside the Octagon as well. Enter Jake Paul, the YouTuber-turned-boxer, who recently called out Pereira for a boxing match. But Francis Ngannou? He’s having none of it. According to the former heavyweight champ, stepping into the ring with Pereira would be a terrible idea for ‘El Gallo.’

Ngannou didn’t mince words, making it clear that facing Pereira in the ring is a whole different beast. While Jake Paul’s confidence knows no bounds, Ngannou seems to think it’s a train wreck waiting to happen if he goes toe-to-toe with the UFC’s fastest-rising star. Will Pereira entertain the idea, or will he keep his focus locked on his UFC reign? Either way, the buzz surrounding the Brazilian isn’t going anywhere.

Alex Pereira is the real deal, Francis Ngannou tells Jake Paul

Francis Ngannou has his first MMA fight, of great magnitude, after his UFC departure taking place in just over a month’s time. He sat down for a podcast session with Jake Paul, who’s also signed to PFL, on ‘BS w/ Jake Paul’ when the topic of Alex Pereira popped up. Ngannou, without skipping a beat, would praise the UFC light heavyweight champion by lauding his toughness, something that he believes his opponents should watch out for.

“He’s tough, he has some tough hands. I think you’re going to get some tough nights [against him],” Francis Ngannou told Jake Paul. He’d further explain to the YouTube star that despite him being around the same weight class as Alex Pereira, he’d still need to watch out for ‘Poatan’s stature and his killer mentality whenever the Brazilian steps up to fight.

“This guy is big, solid, and he’s mean. He walks straight to you like, ‘I’m gonna eat this guy,'” Francis Ngannou added. Now, many of Alex Pereira’s peers and former rivals would agree with Ngannou to a certain extent because even Israel Adesanya did not want anything to do with ‘Poatan’ after he avenged his loss to the Brazilian at UFC 287.

Well, he wanted to end the ‘weight bully’ accusations, which is why he set his sights on Alex Pereira. Paul isn’t just looking to prove that he can beat fighters of the same size as him but also plans to demolish ‘Poatan’ if they ever boxed each other.

“I want all the MMA guys and I’ve beaten all of them. Who’s next? He’s the king of the UFC right now, so I want him. I’m going to decapitate him and dethrone him,” Jake Paul said after his fight against Mike Perry. Although he made the callout, ‘El Gallo’ still isn’t too sure if it’s going to interest Dana White and allow Alex Pereira to box. However, as it stands, Paul’s main goal is to take on all the best MMA fighters.
