Francis Ngannou has exited the grand stage of the UFC to embark on a novel journey within the realm of boxing. The motivation behind Ngannou’s transition from the UFC to the PFL predominantly stemmed from the PFL’s commendable willingness to embrace his aspirations in the world of boxing, all while retaining his affiliation. This move marks Ngannou’s debut in the boxing world.

Recently Michael Bisping had a conversation with Talk Sport’s YouTube channel, where Bisping was asked about his opinion on the upcoming Ngannou vs. Fury match. Bisping was rather clear in his stance and stated that Ngannou is a good fighter, but Fury has that boxing spirit in him.

He said “I mean, look, listen, Francis Ngannou is incredible, powerful, and, as we know, in heavyweight boxing, one shot can change everything. But Tyson Fury, I think, is 33-0-1, he’s undefeated. He’s incredible. He moves so well, he’s incredible, he’s fast, his reflexes are ridiculous, he can take a good shot as well, and he can land a good shot”

Bisping further added, ” Francis Ngannou, I don’t think he’s ever boxed before. Yes, he throws punches in MMA, but not to the level of a high-level boxer, and not somebody like Tyson Fury. So, I think, in the first round or two, he might be dangerous. I think if I’m Francis Ngannou, you can’t play a strategic match, you know. You can’t go out there and look for openings and look for openings.” Bisping seems to have chosen his side and is going for Tyson Fury disregarding Francis Ngannou.

Despite Bisping selection of Fury over Ngannou. ‘The Predator’ seems to be having no problem with it. Ngannou has stated that he will come as a big bad man against ‘The Gypsy King’.

This will be the first time that Ngannou will not have to worry about his weight. His UFC career has been tough on him due to the fact that he had to cut weight below 265, however, this is not the case with boxing since it allows heavyweights to come in at whatever they like above 200lb, meaning he will have the chance to fight without worrying about the scales.

Ngannou made an appearance last night on The MMA Hour,  where he said  “270. I really haven’t been getting my weight down. We made sure not to take the weight down because it’s very important. Tyson Fury does show up very big and heavy, he likes dirty boxing and is taller than me. So I might at some point need to use that force so we haven’t worked to get the weight down. It was just about right balance between strength and endurance.”
