After losing his first-ever title bout against Israel Adesanya, ‘The Eraser’ took on the ‘Italian Dream’ Marvin Vettori in October 2021. However, the Brazilian missed weight before the bout, and it was shifted from middleweight to light heavyweight. But still, he ended up losing the fight via decision.

Although it was the first time Costa couldn’t make weight, his fellow middleweight fighters aren’t letting him forget his mistakes. Recently, ‘The Eraser’ called out middleweight contender Derek Brunson. However, the latter brutally trolled him and denied the fight.

Frustrated, Costa went on a Twitter rant. He posted a series of tweets and slammed Brunson for denying the fight. He also took a dig at fellow UFC middleweight fighters.

Costa wrote, “He said I’m heavyweight hahahaha “How can I fight a heavyweight in the middleweight? It’s unfairly fight. This is guy is so big. He is on peds he is a cheater. I don’t want fight Costa” Derek Brunson lol.”
