UFC strawweights: Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs Yan Xiaonan
The former multiple-time 115-pound champion hasn’t fought since March 2020, where she put on the ‘Fight of the Year’ against Weili Zhang. The 16-4 veteran’s losses have come exclusively to champions, thus showcasing the plane on which she operates. Despite the slew of recent hard-fought losses, she’s arguably one of the biggest names in women’s MMA.

Joanna Jedrzejczyk offers different looks every time she steps under the bright lights of the cage. Her primary source of offense comes in through linear movement behind a lethal jab. The Polish precision striker has developed a meaningful skillset in the clinch and is no slouch on the ground either.
‘Fury’ Xiaonan is on an 11-fight win streak and hasn’t suffered a loss since September 2010, which was her third pro fight. While she’s suffered a No Contest due to Doctor’s stoppage during his time period, her run has been nothing short of incredible. The 13-1 fighter has been a highly touted prospect for several years, and she’s finally actualizing her potential.

She’s coming off a unanimous decision win over former title challenger Claudia Gadhela back in November 2020. Moreover, she’s managed to break into the upper echelon of 115-pound fighters, and fighting Jedrzejczyk is another step up. Xiaonan is extremely well-rounded and is well-sized for the division, making it a challenge to ground her.
