UFC President Dana White is without a doubt one of the most successful people in the world, not just in sports. The UFC mogul rose from bellboy to one of the world’s most assertive, ruthless, and profitable entrepreneurs. There would most likely have been no UFC if there was no Dana White.

Recently, in the post-event interview of Dana White’s Contender Series, White talked about the boxing match that took place between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder. Fury defended his WBC heavyweight championship with an 11th-round knockout, beating Wilder in front of a packed T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

White said, “I thought it was awesome. I think that the heavyweight fight that happened on Saturday and let me just tell you this. Going into it. My thought process was, for what? Why? You know what I mean?” You know why? Because boxing needed that. It was an incredible heavyweight fight. I thought both guys fought their as*** off. For Fury to come in at 277 pounds, and you know, fight the way that he fought. Get knocked down. Get back up. Keep fighting. It’s just, it’s exactly what boxing needed. So glad it happened, so congratulations to both of them and everybody involved in the sport of boxing.”

Dana White certainly gives credit where it is due and the Fury vs Wilder trilogy bout was certainly one for the ages. While appreciating other sports, White is also keen on making matches that can wow the world. One such fight will take place at UFC 269.

Dana White on Jorge Masvidal vs Leon Edwards

White spoke about several topics aside from his compliments and remarks on the Fury vs Wilder fight. He addressed the upcoming fight between Jorge Masvidal vs. Leon Edwards. The eagerly awaited welterweight bout between the two is booked for the highly anticipated UFC 269 event. The duo has a history dating back to 2019, when Masvidal landed the ‘Three punch and a soda combo’.

When asked if the UFC had considered making the bout a five-rounder, Dana White simply laughed and answered, “No.” Hence, the UFC head honcho made it clear to the press that the upcoming battle between Masvidal and Edwards will be a three-round fight, as per usual.
