The UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou is all set to face off against interim champion Ciryl Gane for a title unification bout. Notably, the bout will headline the first UFC pay-per-view event- UFC 270 in January next year. However, ‘The Predator’ is no stranger to ‘Bon Gamin’, as both of them have been sparring partners earlier. Meanwhile, Ngannou has some nice things to say about Gane.
In a video uploaded on Ngannou’s official YouTube channel, the heavy-hitter recalled his memories with Gane. Subsequently, he also revealed what he appreciates about Gane.

He said, “We didn’t spar that much, I think we shared, we trained together for less than ten times. But, what I do remember, and even from there, was his speed. His movement for a big way but for a big guy that was very impressive. And yet is still like something that he has, he has it.” Ngannou said in the video.
Later, the Cameroonian also stated that he and Gane weren’t close and didn’t interact with each other very often. As both of them were just occasional sparring partners in the same gym.
“For less than one month I can really, and we were just meeting in the training section. I didn’t have to deal with him outside the gym or after training. You know, he was just like on the mat. We train, we check clothes and we move. Everybody goes his own way. But personally, we didn’t have that interaction.” he told.
Dana White says Francis Ngannou is free to leave
There have been reports of ‘The Predator’ leaving UFC after his title defense fight against Gane. Reportedly, Ngannou only has one fight left with the UFC, which will be his bout with Ciryl Gane in January. However, the champion will add one more fight to his contract if he emerges victorious against the interim champion.

However, UFC President Dana White is content even if the Cameroonian wants to leave the organization after his first title defense against Ciryl Gane in Anaheim, California.
“Look, if you want to be with us, we’d love to have you, if you don’t want to be with us, no problem. It’s all good,” White told ESPN.
