Trash talk has become integral to UFC and mixed martial arts culture. Fighters use it as a tool to intimidate and mentally weaken their opponents before a fight. However, fans recently saw an unexpected personality use the tactics of trash talk on the UFC stage. It was none other than the famous Hollywood actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Recently, a video surfaced of the ‘Nightcrawler’ star trash-talking former MMA fighter Jay Hieron at the stage of a UFC face-off.
In the video, Gyllenhaal gets into Hieron‘s face. He also hurls insults at him, while the crowd cheers him on. The video quickly went viral, with many UFC fans praising Gyllenhaal for his bravado and trash-talking skills.

Post the weigh-in drama, Gyllenhaal even went ahead and gave an interview to the UFC commentator Jon Anik. The commentator pulled the actor aside and said, “Wow, how about that? We’ll first take a minute here with the challenger. Now we’re talking…Did you expect that contention?”
The’ Okja’ actor replied, “I can’t believe I trained 6 weeks for this sh*t..to fight this piece of sh*t. Just give me the belt now”
It’s probably safe to that being in the same film as ‘The Notorious’ has certainly had some effect on Gyllenhaal.
While the video of Gyllenhaal trash-talking at the UFC face-off may have fooled some fans, it is a testament to the actor’s dedication to his craft. He is willing to put in the work and go the extra mile to make his performances as realistic and engaging as possible.
