After the initial shock and confusion around the finishing sequence of Jon Jones‘ victory, the newly crowned heavyweight champ has made quite a startling revelation about the same. For fans who were witnesses to the epic main event at UFC 285, one can attest that it was not just the commentating booth of Joe Rogan and Daniel Cormier that were left confused, but even fans watching it at home were left scratching their heads at the finish.
Now ‘Bones’ statement seems to at least bring a bit of clarity to what exactly went down moments before the referee stopped the fight. The heavyweight champ, in this new statement, gave quite a chilling description of his finish, even comparing it to some sort of “chiropractic adjustment” for Ciryl Gane. Adding to this, the 35-year-old also talked about his destiny as a fighter and how it didn’t matter who stood in front of him the next time he stepped inside the cage.

While the Frenchman hasn’t made any comments on the finishing sequence, ‘Bones’ latest quote will surely give us a better description of what went down in the last moments of the fight. Detailing it to the best of his abilities, the heavyweight champ states, “The first time, I could hear his spine popping. I gave him a nice chiropractic adjustment. The second time, he didn’t want that same ratchet on his neck, and I put my arm on his neck and choked him out.”
Sounds quite simple, doesn’t it? Well, it does if you are one of the greatest combat sports athletes of all time.
Although the former light heavyweight champ also claims that even his camp didn’t predict such an early finish. Despite this, Jones seemed pretty content with the way things panned out.
“I didn’t expect it to go that quickly. But that’s what we were looking for, the win and domination.” Explained ‘Bones‘
Jones on his next fight in the Heavyweight division
Right after the win, the 27-1 fighter called out former champ Stipe Miocic. And although it appears to be the biggest challenge in the division for the new champ, he clearly didn’t seem too concerned about it. Showing his faith in his journey as a fighter, Jones claimed, “I don’t think it will matter who I fight next.”
