Since the UFC light heavyweight title was relinquished, it has been matter of great speculation as to who will be the next in line to fight for the vacant title. Following an Achilles tendon tear, Jamahal Hill declared on his YouTube page that he would be giving up the title. Not just the spectators, but many UFC competitors who are vying for the top spot in their division have a lot of unanswered concerns in their minds in the wake of this occurrence.

In the middle of all the uncertainty and worry, light heavyweight UFC competitor and Conor McGregor’s SBG Ireland stablemate, Johnny Walker made a rather audacious demand from Dana White. In light of the vacant title, he had a lot to say through his tweet on social media.

Re-posting his previous tweet, Walker appeared to be certain about the title which Hill had vacated earlier. In order to be obvious about what he wanted, he even mentioned UFC President Dana White in his tweet. The tweet had a caption before, which stated,
“I’m ready for a title shot now, I’m on a 3 fight win streak and ready to go! I don’t care who it is !”

The tweet makes it abundantly obvious how eager Walker is for a Title shot. He even cited Vice President of Talent for the UFC, Mick Maynard, and fellow matchmaker Sean Selby.

Given his three-fight winning streak, Walker is convinced that he is ready for the battle he wants to take part in. To the uninitiated, in his previous fights, Walker had won over opponents like Anthony Smith, Paul Craig, and Ion Cuțelaba.

Projecting the prospective contenders for the title

The UFC light heavyweight belt is now open for grabs after Jamahal Hill decided to relinquish it due to an Achilles ailment. The focus now shifts to determining the next contenders for the prestigious belt. Former champion Jiří Procházka, who relinquished the title due to a shoulder injury but has started training again, is anticipated to compete for the championship upon his comeback.

Others who can be seen as desirable candidates for the title shot include Magomed Ankalaev, Aleksandar Rakic, and Jan Blachowicz. To top it all, former middleweight champion Alex Pereira is making his divisional debut at UFC 291.
