In light of the current situation, a name emerged who wants to change her division in the UFC – Brazilian fighter, Norma Dumont. She said that the UFC informed her that the division would be eliminated at the conclusion of this September. While speaking with the MMA fighting, recently, the Brazilian starlet let it all out.
She said, “[They said], ‘Look, there’s really no one else to fight, Norma. There’s no point fighting lower level athletes. [They said,] ‘The reality is, there’s no one else.’ It really makes no sense to me and to [the UFC].”
As her quotes suggest, Dumont’s triumph over Chelsea Green was her final one in the featherweight division. She also defeated the likes of Danyelle Wolf and Karol Rosa prior to that, witnessing a three-match winning streak. Having everyone’s gaze fixed on her, she would surely want to make a mark on the bantamweight division. While the lightweight scene is on the verge of elimination, it has quite an intriguing history.
