Most UFC fans are aware of the fact that it was ‘The Stockton Gangster’, Nate Diaz, who conceptualized the creation of the coveted ‘BMF’ title. Diaz also fought the former ‘BMF’ of the UFC, Jorge Masvidal, for the initial edition of the belt. Despite a loss in the aforementioned fight, UFC fans simply can’t get over his gangster image. Many have also labeled him the ‘BMF’ of the UFC, irrespective of the actual title holder. But the upcoming UFC 291 main-eventer and ‘BMF’ contender, Dustin Poirier, apparently had enough confidence to prove his worth as the real ‘BMF’ of the UFC.

Most fans know that Nate Diaz and Dustin Poirier compete in different sports in the combat sports world currently. Still, a reporter at the pre-UFC 291 press conference sparked up a question involving both of them. However, ‘The Diamond’ answered him in a rather nonchalant tone.

A large chunk of fans might know these former and current ‘BMF’ contenders were pitted against each other for UFC 230 five years back in 2018. But, the UFC canceled the bout after Poirier stepped withdrew from the fight due to an injury. Numerous UFC fans were disheartened after knowing about the cancellation of the bout as well.

The reporter at the pre-UFC 291 press conference had an idea of how the fans craved this fight. He questioned, I know you wanted to fight him for a long time. He’s saying this is pretty much like a one-and-done for him outside the UFC. He wants to be back. Will you still be interested in doing that or will pass it?”

Poirier revealed that he generally doesn’t like predicting stuff that was so far beyond. ‘The Diamond said, Dude, I’ve always said I don’t look too far ahead and book myself in fights that aren’t even realistic or possibility until other things happen”.

Still, he was confident enough about beating Diaz as he said, “But if he comes back, I’ll beat him up”. Most MMA fans also have a name for the winner of this Diaz vs Poirier fight if the fight materializes down the line.

‘The Stockton Slapper’ has also expressed his wish to get back to the UFC recently. Amid such a situation, a bout between them might turn out to be an enthraller. Nevertheless, Diaz is set to go head-to-head against Jake Paul in a boxing bout. ‘The Diamond’ also gave his thoughts on the victor of the fight.

Well, currently Diaz and his fans both must be worried only about his next bout against the noted YouTuber-boxer, Jake Paul. ‘The Problem Child’ has created almost his entire career by knocking out retired MMA fighters like Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley, and even Anderson Silva.

Looking at such a record, ‘The Stockton Gangster’ might need some extra hours of studying his opponent. However, the current ‘BMF’ contender, Poirier, didn’t see Diaz getting the better of Paul.

Poirier realized quite a few positive points about Diaz. But he finally stated, “If I had to put money on it, I would put it on Jake”. Some fans might also say that Porier’s prediction stems from the bad blood he shares with Diaz.

But, it’s pertinent to note that Poirier’s boxing ability is revered in the UFC. Hence, such an opinion from him might cause a number of fans to rethink the odds of the bout.
