5. Dustin is a faithful family man
In addition to being a loyal husband, Dustin is also a loving father. Poirier is married to Jolie Poirier and has a beautiful daughter named Parker Noelle Poirier. They got married back in 2009 when Poirier was only 20 years old.
Additionally, Jolie Poirier is the Vice President and Director of The Good Fight Foundation. It is a nonprofit organization that works on local issues in Louisiana.
4. He went to juvenile detention
According to Poirier, his childhood was quite rough. He grew up in Lafayette, Louisiana. After his parent’s divorce, he had to live with his mom along with his two brothers.
During that period, he started getting into street fights and missing out on school. He opened up about this in an interview and said he decided never to go to school ever again.
3. Dustin is a huge philanthropist
Dustin and his wife together run The Good Fight Foundation. According to the site, the Poirier family saw the opportunity to turn memorabilia into fresh memories by auctioning off pieces from Dustin’s storied UFC career.

The money raised has benefitted their hometown of Louisiana to help underserved communities. They have helped people from food insecurity to health care and environmental disaster relief.
Consequently, for his philanthropic endeavors, UFC awarded him the inaugural Forrest Griffin Community Award.
2. Poirier has his own Hot Sauce
The former Interim UFC Lightweight Champion also has a hot sauce to his name. He teamed up with Heartbeat Hot Sauce to create Poirier’s Louisiana Style.
The $12 Hot sauce is an homage to his hometown, Louisiana.

Directors Michael Tucker and Petra Epperlein featured the American lightweight in a documentary named ‘Fightville‘. It got premiered internationally at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival.
Additionally, the movie explored MMA, and the fighters involved in it. Dustin had a fair bit of screen time in the movie.
