BKFC just found a new part-owner with ‘The Notorious’ aka Conor McGregor. He is trying his best to make BKFC the best and in that process, he even spoke about firing Mike Perry even when ‘Platinum’ is one of the biggest stars in the promotion. He declared this stance on X after Perry lost against Jake Paul on July 20.
Now the question is, is this decision final and is this the right one? ‘Big’ John McCarthy and Josh Thompson discussed the same and criticized McGregor’s decision along with talking about Perry’s new boxing promotion. During the Weighing IN podcast, the ex-UFC veterans spoke about the judgment that the dual-weight champ took and what Perry did as well.
Perry started a different competing promotion while being signed to BKFC which is worth $411 million, and this was because of his manager as per McCarthy. Perry’s manager was apparently heavily involved. On the other hand, McGregor wrote about firing Perry on X and mentioned Perry’s new promotion., “Hey Mike you’re released and you can go and compete in your smelly dirty boxing championship thing, the smell of it, good luck. You’re fired.”

Thompson said on the same note, “I think because we know them from MMA but they’ve also got the biggest names right now. Probably in bare-knuckle outside of Mike Perry. I am not sure if he is returning or not, or did Conor really fire him?” McCarthy added about Perry’s Dirty Boxing promotion saying, “He is doing that Dirty Boxing thing.” Thompson criticized the move that Perry made and added, “I don’t know why would you go do something like that… and stamp your name on it. You burned the bridge buddy.”
McCarthy added with a lot of frustration, “Because of his manager.” Thompson said that he would fire such a manager that forced Perry to do a new promotion like Dirty Boxing. The Irishman had taken this drastic decision to ‘fire’ the American BKFC star but now it seems like his stance is changing. The 33-year-old has proven himself in the bare-knuckle game and defeated Michael Venom Page and Lucke Rockhold.

When McGregor was asked whether Perry was still fired, he answered in an affirmative. However, ‘Mystic Mac’ also added that he was willing to give Perry another chance claiming that ‘Platinum’ was scared of the champs in the promotion. Now Perry is also busy with his Dirty Boxing promotion and is also creating a documentary to show the shenanigans behind the promotion’s establishment. He was completely against what Conor McGregor said and dismissed his vitriol.

In the documentary named ‘Down & Dirty’ docuseries, he took a jibe at McGregor’s decision to fire him. He dismissed the Irishman’s vitriol by saying, “No, what is making me mad is everybody is sucking his ba** like he already fought for them. Like hi, did y’all forget that I am the reason you all are pumped up right now? I fought five times for y’all and y’all ain’t showing me no love. The fighter in Utah who won flicking me off in the ring like okay that is the most viral thing you can do. But Bit** you lucky I ain’t getting in that ring. Right now, I should have.”

Mike Perry is also ready to take on the Irishman in a fight and he made it clear in the docu-series video clip as well. McGregor also said to The Schmo, “Mike [Perry] is fired, but we’re in negotiations. [Dave] ‘Redneck’ Mundell called him out.” McGregor also cited that Perry was never the world champion and he is afraid of Mundell.
