The reports of Conor McGregor making his long-awaited return to the octagon later this year have made him the talk of the town. After a hiatus due to a leg injury, ‘The Notorious’ will be facing off against Michael Chandler in a pay-per-view event. However, there is no official announcement on the same yet, but the excitement among the fans is as high as it gets.
Despite the excitement surrounding the Irishman’s comeback, there are growing concerns about his actions outside the ring and his USADA troubles that could potentially jeopardize his return. McGregor’s recent record has also been a cause for concern among fans, with some attributing his lackluster performance to his shift in focus towards boxing.
As UFC welterweight fighter Stephen Thompson recently pointed out, McGregor has lost some of his movement in the ring, which has affected his performance. Fans are now wondering whether McGregor can regain his form and perform to the best of his abilities.

Stephen Thompson knows what Conor McGregor should do
During a conversation with Chamatkar Sandhu, ‘Wonderboy’ talked about Conor McGregor at large. While on the subject, the interviewer asked Thompson about McGregor’s famous karate stance, what the fighter hasn’t been doing lately, and if he believed that’s the reason for his underperformance.
Reflecting on that, the 40-year-old said, “That’s kind of where he lived for the longest and where he did- you know, did his best.”
He continued, “When he kind of got in that boxing mentality, obviously training for the [Floyd]Mayweather fight, kind of got in that box or stance, [he] lost his movement. And I think that’s what made him good, was that karate stance… I think [if] he gets back to that, he’s gonna obviously be, you know, be successful.”
