Mark Hunt is no stranger to taking it on the chin. One of the toughest, grittiest fighters in the history of MMA, the former UFC heavyweight legend had a granite chin, capable of withstanding Mirko Cro Cop’s legendary head kicks, which are capable of killing mere mortals. But the one thing the Kiwi refuses to take on his chin is being allegedly cheated by Dana White and Co. But what is the hubbub about? Hunt, of course, famously fought Brock Lesnar at UFC 200 back in 2016. The Kiwi legend lost the fight via a unanimous decision and the result was later overturned to a no-contest.
But why was the result overturned? Well, because the former UFC heavyweight champ and WWE superstar popped positive for two substances. This included clomiphene and its metabolite, 4-hydroxy clomiphene, following an out-of-competition test conducted on 28 June 2016. The second was an in-competition test conducted on 9 July 2016, at the aforementioned event. This means Lesnar fought Hunt while being juiced. And that is why Hunt is suing Lesnar, the UFC, and White (who knew about the failed tests as claimed in the latest appeal) for fraud, racketeering, battery, and breach of contract.
The kickboxer-turned-mixed martial artist’s lawsuit was previously dismissed by a Nevada court on all charges back in 2019. But his appeal has found some purchase in appeal at the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

“This civil lawsuit will be the second highest civil lawsuit in history, which will make me one of the wealthiest, I’m sorry the wealthiest athlete ever in history… Dana White and all his cohorts, they know the landscape has changed and the tidal waves, when it hammers them, they have serious problems. You know, his problem right now is finding a way to stay out of jail, which he will be going to jail and the rest of his cohorts,” the bombastic Kiwi declared in an interview with Dom Harvey.

But the interviewer, like many fans, was curious. Why is Hunt so adamant in pursuing this case? After all, fighting a case in a different country must be costing him money, time, and even peace of mind. Why didn’t the Kiwi legend just “accept it’s f—ed, feel disgruntled about it, and just get on with your life?” Well, Hunt shed light on that too during the interview.

Why is Mark Hunt so driven to pursue the lawsuit against Dana White?
“It would have been just as easy like you said to just walk away get a paycheck and live on my life,” Hunt said. He also mentioned that even his ex-wife was against it but he still went forward. “But that’s just not the type of person I am, you know if I see a wrong I’m going to go and fix it. I don’t care at what costs.”
And Hunt feels White and the UFC did him wrong and put him in harm’s way against Lesnar that night. All of this was because the promotion was desperate for the former champ to fight on their anniversary mega-card. That warranted him doing everything to right that wrong, no matter the cost.

“All these guys that I just explained to colluded together for one purpose are going to jail and P. Diddy is going to get that baby oil to b-m these f–ers,” Hunt said, to howling laughter from the host.
At the moment, Hunt’s case is still being heard in the Ninth Circuit Court. The court has reversed two dismissals from the lower court. This was related to the fraud and battery charges. Additionally, this is in the process of adjudicating if the UFC did indeed defraud him by misrepresenting Lesnar’s testing status, and whether the subsequent fight qualifies as battery. And Hunt, as always, is sure of victory. What do you think about Mark Hunt threatening Dana White with jail time over his lawsuit?
