Is Conor McGregor's UFC career over, or can he still make a legendary comeback?

Michael Chandler just made a brutal post for his opponent Conor McGregor who was supposed to fight with him at UFC 303. Chandler told ‘The Notorious’ to retire after the latter requested a fight in 2024. Even Dana White claimed that McGregor will not be fighting this year. At a recent DWCS (Dana White Contender Series) press conference,  he said, “We didn’t meet up, but we talked, and yeah, he wants to fight. So, we’ll figure it out. Not this year. He won’t fight this year.” However, McGregor denied this and said that he had a December date.

Chandler decided to take a jibe at his opponent and posted a caption that might rile up ‘Mystic Mac.’ Let’s take a look!

Now Michael Chandler decided to post this on X. He said, “Ah conor, the sport will move on and thrive without you. Put to bed. Laid to rest. Soon a distant memory. You’ve vastly overestimated your importance inside of this game for almost a decade. Godspeed.”

He sent this brutal retirement message to his opponent who has not fought since he lost to Dustin Poirier. McGregor had to go through an intense surgery and took a hiatus for two years. The dual-weight champ was supposed to return UFC 303 but he again injured his toe on the same leg that had the surgery and had to withdraw. Now Chandler is looking for other opponents and posted a brutal jibe at McGregor.

He had already hinted that he was ready to move on from McGregor and find another opponent.“As much as I respect Conor, my legacy is not hinged upon this fight. I am running my own race, and I’m continuing to move forward,” he told Lucky Block. He also said that he was excited to fight and was in his best shape at the moment.

The duo had already clashed for UFC lightweight championship at UFC 262 in 2021. Oliveira was the one who found victory after finishing his opponent in the 2nd round. However, Chandler had put up an amazing performance in the first round so a rematch might be intriguing to the fans.

Nevertheless, one thing is pretty clear Chandler is ready to go inside the octagon. However, who is he going to fight against?
