Conor McGregor has taken over the internet once again but for all the wrong reasons. He has yet again crossed the line and dissed about his former 3-time opponent, Dustin Poirier’s wife. Needless to say the two share a rivalry that has attracted a lot of eyes. Now, as the ‘Diamond’ narrated a story of an incident at a Mardi Gras, ‘The Notorious’ in a few now-deleted tweets attacked Poirier and his wife.

The Cajun mixed martial artist recounted the story during a recent podcast with Theo Von. He revealed how he got in a fight with a man who put a hand on his wife’s stomach and whispered something in her ear. Soon after Poirier’s story went on the internet, McGregor took it to X and shared a few words.

The ‘Mystic Mac’ wrote, ““So me and my wife Jolie were at mardi gra this one time and a guy came over and bent her over a fence like this and was whispering in her ear and I just saw red””, followed by a single laughing emoji. But the X-rated chant didn’t end. After one more tweet, the Irish mixed martial artist wrote, “He was seeing red bro. Sexy red hahahaja.”

Fight fans get triggered as Conor McGregor attacks Dustin Poirier on X

McGregor’s words on X greatly enraged the fighting community, as they stood together to defend Poirier. One fan wrote, “Connor is a filth of a human being to attack someone’s wife like that.” Another fan simply questioned why the ‘Mystic Mac’ talked bad about Poirier after his apparent retirement, quoting, “why egg him on only after he retired lol.”

Some of the fans pointed out their disappointment at the scenes and targeted McGregor for pulling out of his fight against Michael Chandler. Without a doubt, the entire community of combat sports was anticipating the bout. Nevertheless, the Irishman’s return is still anticipated. One fan directly asked the Irish fighter to stop with the constant empty threats and take a fight in the Octagon. The comment read, “Get in octagon.. less yapping.” Another fan claimed that McGregor was trash-talking just to pull out of yet another fight. “Dude talking s**t just to pull out of another fight who the f**k is this guy,” read the comment. Some of the fans seemed to disregard McGregor’s words now that he pulled out a much-anticipated fight. “Yawn i don’t care what conor says at this point,” wrote a fan.

A few of the fans reminded McGregor of the time when he lost a couple of fights against Poirier. The rivalry between the duo witnessed a trilogy, with the fight tipping towards McGregor with a KO win in the featherweight realm. Subsequently, Poirier claimed a victory via knockout at UFC 257, in the lightweight division. The third bout, however, resulted in a gruesome injury that sent McGregor into a three-year-long hiatus. One fan pointed out that the trash talks got tainted right after the trilogy fight. The fan wrote, “Trash talk game has hit the sh**s ever since his foot became a bahloon.” Another fan commented, “Dude got beat up twice n running his mouth still.” One more comment read, “All mouth now.”

After losing the trilogy against Poirier, McGregor might just want another chance to fight to settle the scores. But would it actually materialize? Only time can tell. What do you think of McGregor’s words towards Poirier? Let us know what you think in the comments down below.
