Fight Island consists of a series of UFC events held at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It started during the Covid-19 pandemic to help the international fighters as they could not get into the USA. UFC President Dana White provides new details and updates for the Abu Dhabi fans regarding UFC Fight Island.
The first event of the series was UFC 251: Usman vs. Masvidal, which took place on 12 July 2020. Then the UFC had several events in Abu Dhabi. The last event was UFC 257: Poirier vs. McGregor 2, which took place on 24 January 2021.

After UFC 257, the USA opened its doors for international fighters, and the UFC events started taking place in the USA. So, after UFC 257, the Abu Dhabi fans are still wondering whether UFC will return to Yas Island.

In a recent interview with UFC Arabia, the interviewer asked UFC President Dana White whether the Fight Island will take place by the end of this year.
Dana White replied – “Oh! 100%. Yeah, one hundred percent. Listen, Abu Dhabi Fight Island is real and gonna become even more real”.

Below is the list of the UFC events of the Fight Island series that took place at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
- UFC 251: Usman vs. Masvidal
- UFC on ESPN: Kattar vs. Ige
- UFC Fight Night: Figueiredo vs. Benavidez 2
- UFC on ESPN: Whittaker vs. Till
- UFC 253: Adesanya vs. Costa
- UFC on ESPN: Holm vs. Aldana
- UFC Fight Night: Moraes vs. Sandhagen
- UFC Fight Night: Ortega vs. The Korean Zombie
- UFC 254: Khabib vs. Gaethje
- UFC on ABC: Holloway vs. Kattar
- UFC on ESPN: Chiesa vs. Magny
- UFC 257: Poirier vs. McGregor 2
Every event from UFC 251 to UFC 254 took place in the Flash Forum arena in Abu Dhabi. All those events had no live audience because of Covid-19 restrictions.

After UFC 254, the events shifted to a new arena, the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. The first event at Etihad Arena was the UFC on ABC: Holloway vs. Kattar. It was the first event to have a live audience since the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Abu Dhabi fans enjoyed the UFC events and wanted more of them to happen. Now that the UFC President had assured the fans, there is no doubt that Fight Island will return by the end of this year.
