Israel Adesanya may have his fair share of haters. But he’ll never find one like Alex Pereira. The fighter followed Adesanya to the UFC after the two shared a heated rivalry in kickboxing. They have thrown punches at each other in the past with both of them picking up wins. But now it seems like it will be dragged outside the cage and even to other sports as well.

At least if Alex Pereira is to be believed, it just might. After the controversial split decision made Tyson Fury the winner of him and Francis Ngannou, Adesanya uploaded a clip on Instagram. The clip was back from Adesanya’s boxing days and he captioned it calling it terribly unfair. And now, Pereira has uploaded his own clip.

Pereira is stone cold whether it’s his facial expressions or his ways inside the cage. After ‘Izzy’ uploaded his boxing clip, so did Pereira. So far, both the fighters have picked up one UFC win against one another. And so, a trilogy match is only natural. But will it be in the same sport?

After ‘Izzy’ lost his belt, he decided to sit it out for some time. However, he was a member of the audience that saw Fury go up against Ngannou. After the fight was over, Adesanya appeared for a short interview where he spoke about his experience of the match. He also jokingly announced a false return date.

“2027, look for the return,” he joked as he left. And how does ‘Poatan’ respond to it? By captioning his boxing clip, “Maybe I’ll do a boxing fight in 2027”. So Pereira has made it obvious now. He’s not going to let his rivalry with Adesanya be forgotten anytime soon.

However, the threat does not work too well if it challenges ‘Izzy’ to a boxing match. That’s because Adesanya himself does not look forward to return to the ring at all. In a recent Instagram post, Adesanya told the world how he felt that the boxing world had been unjust to him. Here’s all he wrote.

Israel Adesanya on boxing

In November 2014, Israel Adesanya began his professional boxing career. Nonetheless, it wasn’t as long-lived as his MMA career. He still achieved a lot during his boxing career but it just wasn’t enough for the fighter. Moreover, he also alleged that things just weren’t fair for him.

“Boxing as a sport is beautiful. Boxing as a business is corrupt as fu*k!” Adesanya wrote noting that in the clip he uploaded, he got punched illegally but the opponent received no penalties. At the same time, Adesanya was fined points when he tried throwing a Superman punch. The fighter noted that he’ll never return to boxing. This makes Pereira’s challenge all that much interesting, doesn’t it?
