Any follower of Joe Rogan would be aware of the importance he places on a healthy lifestyle. Rogan is someone who follows a strict diet and spends quality time in the gym. He often posts images of what he eats as part of his diet to motivate his followers to be mindful of what they are eating. In Rogan’s podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, he often talks about the same thing. The 55-year-old makes sure that he brings biologists who can talk about the matter professionally. To get a better insight into mindful eating, he asks them questions about eating habits.

Once renowned biologist David Sinclair came to JRE. Sinclair is an Australian-American biologist whose primary field of interest is ageing and epigenetics. He is also a professor of genetics at Harvard Medical School. Rogan and Sinclair talked a lot about the importance of mindful eating, which can help humans live a longer life. After coming across the video, MMA legend Georges St-Pierre was inspired. Being someone who gives so much importance to diet and exercise, St-Pierre felt that the discussion between the former Fear Factor host and Sinclair should reach a wider audience.

Joe Rogan and Sinclair were talking about inculcating healthy eating habits. However, Rogan had doubts regarding the diet plan. He asked, “If you have this one meal a day, why is it better to do that than to have, say, you know, smaller meals of like 500 calories multiple times per day?” As a reply to the former Fear Factor host’s question, the world-famous biologist replied, “Our bodies were designed well or evolved to respond to adversity. And we have removed that from our lives because it feels good. But we need adversity to be resilient and to fight disease.

Talking further on the same topic, he added, “So what I’m saying is that period of hunger, but what’s happening in the body is you are turning on these adversity hormones, response genes. We call them longevity genes, and they make the body fight ageing and diseases. And so by eating through the day, the traditional, oh, you got to have breakfast best in the day blah, blah, blah. Your body says ‘Hey. I just killed a mammoth, no problem, no need to worry about survival.’ After hearing the words of Sinclair, GSP shared the video posted by Instagram user Kai Zen Bickle to his Instagram story and wrote, “People should listen to this.

Being one of the biggest fighters in MMA history, St-Pierre had the best advice for his social media followers. Back in 2022, St-Pierre talked about following in the footsteps of UFC commentator Joe Rogan by going for a carnivore diet. The carnivore diet means having only animal-based food for 30 days. Both Rogan and St-Pierre are fans of the same. Something that is very certain is that these two famous personalities are quite aware of what they are doing to their bodies by eating healthily.
