It looks like Israel Adesanya aka ‘The Last Stylebender’ has an affinity for getting into trouble whenever he is in New Zealand! The middleweight star might be a dangerous competitor inside the octagon but has gotten himself into trouble outside it more than once. Apart from getting a DUI, which gave him a 6-month suspension from driving, he seems to be in trouble again on the road. And guess what? It is in New Zealand again!
Izzy was in a heated argument on the roads of New Zealand with a passerby while getting into his lavish black Mclaren. It seemed like he was arguing about the parking or something related to it. The Instagram post by Home of Fight read, “Israel Adesanya got into a confrontation in New Zealand. The two exchanged heated words, and in the end, Adesanya spat on the guy and said: “I dare you to try me.”
Adesanya was saying something along the lines of, “I ain’t paying for this sh*t. F*ck off you b*tch… Go walk away… Try me. I dare you to try me.” The comments were filled with fans feeling sorry for the passerby who got into a scuffle with the UFC former two-weight champion. Any person who follows combat sports would know that Izzy could switch a normal person’s lights out in seconds! Even the individual taking this video scurried off when there was a hint of a showdown.

However, even the greatest of greats is not immune from the law. It seems Izzy managed to get himself into trouble for drinking and driving in the same country. What’s more shocking is that the DUI case happened just before UFC 293! The fighter was not having a pleasant month because he lost to Sean Strickland in the same event, but the 24 – 4 – 0 fighter did escape the consequences of drinking and driving.
To take you down memory lane, this entire ordeal happened before he clashed with Sean Strickland, as mentioned above, in September 2023. Izzy was caught in a drunk driving case in New Zealand. The reports revealed the International combat sensation confronted charges͏ for driving a car on Welle͏sley Street in Auckland Central with a documented alcohol level of 87 milligrams per 100 milliliters of blood. Now why is this a problem?
Because firstly you should not drink and drive, and secondly, the consumption was above the legal limit of 50 milligrams of alcohol. You must be wondering what the court said about all this, especially when a UFC star is involved. Let’s refresh our memories, shall we?

The judge took a unique turn and did not impose a formal conviction on Izzy. Rather, he announced that the City Kickboxing star had to ͏contribute ͏$1500 ͏to a charity that dealt with drunk-driving matters and partake in a scholastic program. Adesanya, the ever-expressive and honest champ, went to his Instagram and spoke about the whole verdict.
He wrote, “34 years young and no criminal record. I’m grateful the judge used critical thinking and compassion on this one. ” But wait, this was not the end of his monologue! ‘The Last Stylebender’ added in another story, “Today is a good day.”
He was truly devastated by his actions and even gave a public apology to his family and fans. “I want to apologize to the community, my family, and my team for the decision I made to get behind the wheel after drinking at dinner. I was pulled over and given an evidentiary blood test. The reading was 87 milligrams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood. I am disappointed with my decision to drive. It was wrong,” Izzy expressed to the NZ Herald in September.

However, as the laws go, he was not allowed to drive for 6 months and also had to take part in a drunk-driving cessation program. Apart from already being in a bad mental place, he lost to Strickland in his upcoming match and decided to go on a hiatus. Nevertheless, he came back against Dricus Du Plessis for UFC 305, and even though he lost this bout, he remained optimistic. He said he was not retiring after this loss and would return stronger.
But now this new feud on the road is out, so what do you think is going to happen? Tell us in the comments below.
