Jon Jones has spent over a decade in the UFC without suffering a true defeat, aside from a disqualification. Many in the MMA world, including Dana White, regard him as the greatest of all time. However, some believe Jones may need to face and defeat Tom Aspinall to solidify his legacy and silence any remaining critics once and for all. However, he is not focused on his next possible fight and is enjoying his UFC 309 victory. He is just a few fights away from retiring from the sport but has his retirement plans ready.

During an interview with Alex Gonzalez, Jon Jones revealed that his MMA career is nearing its end, and he is actively seeking to transition to a new career path in the near future. Jones has always been a family man; outside the Octagon, he cares for his family. It seems ‘Bones’ wants to spend some time with his four children and wants to take care of their education. However, he did make it clear that he wanted to retire at his peak without facing any severe injuries from fighting.

He said, “10 years from now, I just want to be the best dad I can be man. I have some beautiful kids. I got great kids. And they are getting older now, my kids are all high school age and a little younger. And 10 years from now I want to be using this bread to be paying for college funds, paying for my daughters’ weddings, and just living vicariously through my kids.” Priding himself as being a ‘simple guy’, Jones continued, “You see a lot of fighters, they fight for too long, and they start forgetting what their own name is. You know, like I never want to be a punch-drunk athlete.”

Jon Jones is confident that he can become a very good actor after retirement

Jon Jones has sparked fresh excitement in the MMA world, but this time, it’s not about his fighting career. The UFC heavyweight champion is making his acting debut, having already appeared in the Netflix French special La Cage, which centered around MMA. Now, Jones is preparing to take on a new role as a Navy SEAL in the upcoming film Edo Crossing, which tells the story of a Navy SEAL and his canine companion. As fans of ‘Bones’ are intrigued by his career shift, Jones just like his most interviews seemed to be very confident of his skillsets in acting.

While speaking to Alex Gonzalez, he shared what exactly he wants from his acting career. He said, “Within the next five years, I wanna win one more fight, maybe even two more fights and try and make as much money as possible in the UFC. And I want to launch my acting career. I’ve always wanted to be an actor. I think I do pretty good on camera and I’ve done little commercials and things like that. And every time I’m on set, people are like, ‘Bro, it’s hard to believe that you’re a fighter. You conduct yourself just like all of our professional actors.’ So, that’s my five-year plan”. While acting might be one of his targets, fans want to know who he faces next in his career. Interim champion Tom Aspinall has been itching to get into a fight with the 37-year-old champion.

While ‘Bones’ has avoided him for quite some time UFC CEO Dana White is confident the fight will happen. Who do you think wins between both the fighters if they ever take on each other? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
