Mike Perry didn’t have the best time fighting under the UFC banner. But he has been thriving in the BKFC with a three-fight winning streak. Recently, he shared a video of Joe Rogan discussing a fascinating mushroom theory in an older episode of his million-dollar ‘Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast.

Joe Rogan is well known for inviting guests from various walks of life on his podcast and engaging in some of the most interesting topics. He once discussed how the depiction of Santa Claus is similar to that of a mushroom named the Amanita muscaria. Let us take a look at what Rogan had to say.

‘Platinum’ Mike Perry remains pretty active on social media platforms as he shared an interesting video clip from Joe Rogan’s famous podcast. In the video, Rogan is seen drawing similarities between the depiction of Santa Claus with a mushroom. He said, “Amanita muscaria is the most fascinating one to me because that’s the one that looks like Santa Claus.”

The 55-year-old podcast host explained it in the context of people who lived before the advent of agriculture. Rogan mentioned that there was a connection between the Amanita muscaria and coniferous trees, which are used during Christmas. He added, “Coniferous trees would grow these weird-looking shiny red and white mushrooms under them.” Rogan continued, “Coniferous trees are pine trees. That’s what we use for Christmas trees… They are the color of Santa Claus.” 

JRE host claims that Amanita muscaria commonly grows in Siberia

Joe Rogan spoke about the abundance of the Amanita muscaria in the region of Siberia. He also mentioned that there’s a species of animals that regularly consume these mushrooms. Rogan said, “They’re common in Siberia [and] they are eaten constantly by Caribou. Caribou are reindeer.” He further explained how these mushrooms have become a source of addiction for these animals. But there was more to this story.

Rogan went on to talk about the shamans in Siberia. He said, “In the times in Siberia, when it became extremely snowy, the shaman would visit, and the way they would get into the house is through the f***ing chimney because the door because the door would be snowed in… There are so many parallels between Santa Claus and to Christianity.” The 55-year-old was vocal about the fact that most of the theories that Christianity arrived on were similar to the shamanistic rituals involving Amanita muscaria.
