Jon Jones has been working “like a dog” for his fight against Stipe Miocic. The UFC heavyweight champion took the help of Dana White’s go-to medical expert, Gary Brecka. Later, he incorporated cardio and cold plunges into his workout regime. Needless to say, ‘Bones’ received quite a bit of attention from the fighting community with visuals of his preparation.
On the 31st of October, Jones sent forth a handful of visuals that showed his workout. Along with a few others, Jones was at ‘The Performance Ranch’, a physical fitness program in Albuquerque. In the first slide, ‘Bones’ had the camera in his hand as he showed the world who he trained with. The video showcased a room with a man taking a cold plunge. And Jones revealed his excitement about working out with the younger generation.
The next two slides showed the 37-year-old champion running around the neighborhood and then working out on a static bike with an air mask on. In the captions, the New Mexico resident wrote, “There’s nothing like the bonds we build in the grind, preparing for battle together. Feeling overwhelmingly grateful and truly alive-this time of year brings out the best in us.”

As soon as the post crossed the threshold of Instagram, the fight fans leaped onto the comments section to reveal their thoughts. However, the world of mixed martial arts wasn’t really impressed with Jones. Even though he seemed desperate to defend his championship title at UFC 309. Let’s see what the fighting community had to say about his workout.
Jon Jones fails to impress the fans with his workout regime
The fight fans’ disappointment emerged from Jones’ inactivity. He was all set to fight Miocic back in 2023. But a torn pectoral muscle forced him to pull out of the fight. Reflecting on his inactivity, one of the fans commented, “Guy trains but never fight, might as well retire.” However, some of the fans weren’t convinced that intensive cardio followed by a cold plunge could be considered training. One fan wrote, “Anything but train.” Meanwhile, another comment read, “Is that what you call a “preparation”?😂😂😂😂nahhhhhhh.”

What’s your perspective on:
Is Jon Jones' legacy at risk with his choice to fight an inactive 42-year-old Miocic?
Have an interesting take?
Many fans were upset about the matchup between Jones and Miocic. After all, ‘Stone Cold’ was a 42-year-old fighter, who was also pretty inactive in the HW realm. His last fight against Francis Ngannou was also a disappointment, as ‘The Predator’ defeated him with KO in the second round. A comment read, “fighting a 42 year that hasn’t fought in 4 years is really gonna cement Jones legacy at Heavyweight.”
Jones carries an aura that attracts challenges from all directions. And one such challenge came from Tom Aspinall. The duo indulged themselves in several heated online battles. However, no comment has been made regarding a matchup between Jones and Aspinall. Weighing in on a fight against Aspinall, a fan wrote, “He’s petrified of [Tom Aspinall] that it’s to a point where it’s no longer justifiable. Jon is scared and his legacy will forever be tainted for this and will be out of the goat convo and I’m part of 9 mma groups and they all agree – 98 thousand members agree out of 112 , that speaks VOLUMES.”
The fighting community seemed to believe that the only way Jones could prove that he was better than Aspinall, was by fighting him. One fan wrote, “No more excuses your a chicken for letting [Tom Aspinall] defend an INTERIM BELT?” Meanwhile, another fan commented, “Aspinall is better than you brother or fight him.”
