Joe Rogan declared that he would rather travel to Russia than visit Canada for UFC 315. But why the sudden animosity over Canada? It’s not a secret by now that the UFC color commentator does not like to step outside the US soil for any UFC events, given his busy schedule. He will be a part of the UFC 314 broadcast from Miami, but has also confirmed his absence from UFC 315 a month later. Several fans, including Jack Della Maddalena, had a lot to say about Rogan’s verdict.

Is the millionaire podcaster apprehensive about going to Canada because of his relationship with Donald Trump? Well, we will talk about that, but first let’s see what Jack Della Maddalena has to say about this. He is, after al,l going to fight in a major bout against Belal Muhammad for the latter’s first welterweight title defence.

While speaking to Main Event TV JDM said, “I mean, I think, I don’t know, Joe, I think he just stays to the U.S, pretty sure, but that’s alright, that’s alright, it doesn’t matter, they’ll have some good commentators there but yeah, as long as the team is there, I’ll be happy.” Well, he does not seem to be too worried about the UFC colour commentator not being there, but the fans were pretty stunned.

In his classic unapologetic Joe Rogan style, the podcaster revealed his reason for not going to Canada. While speaking to Brendan Schaub during Fight Companion for UFC London, he said that he would rather go to Russia. “I will not be there, I don’t go to Canada anymore, I don’t,” Rogan stated.

When Schaub quipped ‘Nor should you,’ Rogan replied that he would “rather go to Russia,” while everyone laughed in the studio. “I had a conversation with Trump about it,” Rogan said. “He goes: ‘I started calling him Governor [Justin] Trudeau just for fun, but a lot of people are saying good idea. Maybe it is a good idea!”

Rogan and Trump were speaking about former Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau, who resigned from his position recently. Rogan had stated earlier in the same episode that while he did not appreciate Canadian leaders, he is fond of the country’s people. “They have a terrible government, but the Canadian people are awesome,” he said. However, fans pretty much jumped on social media to discuss their opinions on what Rogan said, and some MMA fans were pretty agitated. However, the others came to Rogan’s rescue.

Fans debate Joe Rogan’s comment about Canada

Fans were quick to shut the hate down, saying that Rogan has had problems with Canada for a long time. One follower said, “He’s only been saying Canada suc— for like 10 years at this point,” while another follower stated, “Joe’s been bashing on Canada since they froze bank accounts of truck drivers. This isn’t anything new.” This bit of information is true since in early 2022, Rogan offered his backing for the truckers who fought COVID-19 vaccine declarations during the Canadian “Freedom Convoy” protest in early 2022. He said in JRE Fight Companion on March 23, “They got a squirrelly system up there, and they keep losing rights, left and right. What they did during the whole trucker convoy thing was nuts. Like full-on, communist bulls-t—t.”

Another follower chimed in and said that Rogan’s dislike for Canada was not anything new. They said, This ain’t news. Cry harder.” One follower corrected the Reddit user who posted about this and said, “After listening to the line in context, I am not entirely certain that Joe was being serious. I think he could have been just talking sh—.”

Another fan simply commented, “Joe is great,” while a netizen sarcastically wrote, “Not sure Joe leaves Texas these days.”  One follower defended Rogan and wrote, “Also, he was laughing when he said it.
