Ladies and gentlemen, the Dagestani wall has finally been breached by the Georgian offensive! Merab Dvalishvili successfully defended his bantamweight title against Umar Nurmagomedov at UFC 311. While fans anticipated a good fight, they never expected it to turn into a masterclass. Dvalishvili, the heavy underdog going into the bout, proved he is here to stay and dominate the bantamweight division.
It was clear that Umar Nurmagomedov came with force against Merab Dvalishvili as he clearly won the first two rounds. But as the fight went to the last three rounds, ‘The Machine’ invoked his third lung as his cardio came at the play. Dvalishvili dominated Umar Nurmagomedov in the last three rounds to take the victory by unanimous decision at UFC 311. The official judge scoring was 48-47, 48-47 and 49-46.

Well, at the Octagon interview, ‘The Machine’ was a bit emotional as he emphasized, “You guys know. You know I’m training all the time. I am ‘The Machine’. I have a big cut on my leg, I have an infection but I know the UFC needed me. The UFC gave me everything. Today I was good but you have to prepare good, I had an infection on my leg and my lower back [was hurt]. Umar is a tough fighter and he’s good but he called me old. Yes, I’m old but I’m working everyday.”
After clinching the victory, ‘The Machine’ jumped on the cage and celebrated his victory in a ravaging fashion, however, it appears that the arena security didn’t like that as they forcefully removed Dvalishvili from the top of the cage. It was quite funny to witness it as Dvalishvili threw a knockout punch to the security guard as well.
Well, as soon as the video went viral, the MMA community came forward to support their bantamweight champion. Let’s have a look at what the community had to say about the fiasco.

Starting off, a social media user asserted that Merab was in a critical position, and if he had fallen then it would have been a crisis for the management, “if he fell that would’ve been bad.” ‘The Machine’ has one of the best cardio within the MMA realm. Looking at this a fan wrote, “Merab could go another 25mins clearing out all the security guards EZ.”
Furthermore, a fan appeared to be a bit confused by the celebration,“I never understand why fighters cant swing their leg over the fence and look at the roof they just blew off the place.” Amidst the chaos, Merab Dvalishvili tried to hammer fists at security, “Did he go to hammer fist security.” However, to this luck, no one was injured.
