Since Cormier is a phenomenal wrestler, he let that aspect be visible throughout his MMA career. The former UFC double champion found tremendous success using his wrestling inside the octagon, especially when it was tough for him to stand against certain fighters.
One such match was at the flagship UFC 200.
Daniel Cormier used his grappling to outlast Anderson Silva at UFC 200
UFC 200 was a big event for the UFC. After Diaz–McGregor 2 and Cormier-Jones 2 fell out before the event, UFC 200 lost some of its shine. However, Cormier desired to stay on the card and compete.
Thus, the UFC found him an opponent after Jones pulled out; UFC middleweight legend Anderson Silva stepped up to fight ‘DC’ in a non-title bout.
Cormier dominated ‘The Spider’ to get a unanimous decision win.
