Miesha Tate has been a fan favorite for years. Over the years, the former UFC bantamweight champion has always delivered some amazing moments to the fans. This time the fans got to see ‘Cupcake’ in a grappling match with Bia Mesquita at the UFC fight pass Invitational 3. The match ended with Bia Mesquita defeating Tate in overtime via submission. Even though Tate was defeated by the ‘BJJ GOAT’ Bia Mesquita in the grappling match, fans appreciated seeing Tate compete.

Miesha Tate showed her skills earlier in the UFC by defeating Holly Holm to become the undisputed bantamweight champion. Moreover, ‘Cupcake’ was also a Strikeforce bantamweight champion.

Fan’s reaction to Miesha Tate fighting Bia Mesquita

After the incredible UFC Fight Pass Invitational 3 results, fans took to social media to react to Tate’s loss. Particularly, a social media user praised Mesquita and Tate. They said, Mesquita’s BJJ acumen is insane. She’s largely considered a grappling goat for a reason! With that being said, I thought Miesha Tate looked awesome in this match. She was strong, technical, and ready to go.

 

Following the results of the match, one of the fans admired Miesha Tate’s effort in the match.

A user felt they had already made the correct prediction about the winner.

In light of Mesquita’s dominant performance, a fan felt Tate wouldn’t have a chance at winning.

One fan felt it was nice to see ‘Cupcake’ compete once again. While it didn’t go in her favor, her fans were elated to see her fight yet again.

Moreover, one of the fans commented after seeing the bout, “The steroids championships.”

Miesha Tate could not handle Mesquita’s high-level grappling

The relentless pressure that Mesquita put on Tate was too much to handle for the former UFC bantamweight champion. Although Tate managed to avoid many of the submission moves from Mesquita, she ultimately tapped. Eventually, ‘Cupcake’ did not keep up with the pressure in the overtime rounds. Subsequently, it ended in a disappointing night for her.
