Fans Forecast a “Manslaughter” After Alexander Volkanovski’s UFC 290 Win as Featherweight Champ and Ilia Topuria Square Off Cage-Side Fuelling Fight Rumors

The UFC’s featherweight division remains led by Alexander Volkanovski, as he defeated interim champion Yair Rodriguez in the third round by a TKO in their co-main event fight at UFC 290. Using heavy pressure, ground control, and takedowns, Volkanovski stifled Rodriguez’s deft striking for the first two rounds before erupting to victory in the third.

Following his defeat against lightweight champion Islam Makhachev in February, Volkanovski was in a slump. Volkanovski performed admirably there, but it was not enough to win. However, with his triumph over Rodriguez, he has won the hearts of many. After the fight, Alexander Volkanovski and Ilia Topuria came face to face, which piqued the curiosity of the fans.

Volkanovski and Topuria were seen squabbling in a video that was uploaded to the ESPN MMA Instagram account. The incident happened following Volkanovski’s victory over Rodriguez. Given that Topuria has never lost a match in his UFC career, Volkanovski appeared eager to end his streak, he courageously challenged Topuria saying ” You might be undefeated but I’m coming for that zero“. It was enough to keep the fans buzzing. Volkanovski, in the past, had also made bold claims for Rodriguez as well.

“Volk by manslaughter” said one fan expressing how Volkanovski is going to beat Topuria. Another fan was seen hailing ‘The Great’ by saying “Volk is whole nother level. No one can stop him at featherweight” considering the fight he had against Rodriguez.

“Ilia literally has no chance” one of the fans said so because he feels Volkanovski is too tough to beat.

“Topuria is young, hungry, fast and has power…Volk by 1st round brutal knockout” This fan had an other fact in mind considering Topuria not too easy as a challenger.

The majority of the replies show that the fans are hailing Volkanovski for the face-off. However, it’s intriguing to think about the fact that Topuria hasn’t yet suffered a defeat.

Volkanovski feels incredibly confident and ready to take on anyone who stands in his way following his courageous victory over Rodriguez. He obviously wants to take on Topuria, though, in order to end his winning streak and ultimately emerge victorious. However, with an undefeated record, Ilia Topuria is a rising featherweight contender in the UFC. Through excellent wins in the organization, he has demonstrated his grappling and striking prowess in his fights. With 14 wins and no losses so far, Topuria has showcased his potential prospect in the UFC.
