Khamzat Chimaev might have been linked to multiple fights over the last few months, but the undefeated star seems to have his sights set on two specific individuals in the promotion. Ahead of UFC 287, the Chechen took a dig at the two of the fighters in the main and co-main of the card in a bid to keep his name in the mix amongst the biggest stars of the welterweight and middleweight divisions.

Chimaev, in his latest tweets, jibed at the current middleweight champ Alex Pereira and welterweight star and veteran Jorge Masvidal. These call-outs by the 28-year-old come right before the two get ready to fight at the stacked UFC 287 event going down in Miami.

‘Borz’ seemed to be in the mood for callouts, as was evident in his tweets, taking a dig at Pereira first.

Claiming that he’d make easy work of the middleweight champ, Chimaev wrote, “Don’t be afraid boy, I promise I’ll make it real fast, see you soon”

This interestingly comes after the Brazilian had dismissed Chimaev as a title contender in a recent interaction with the media.

Right after thrashing Pereira, the 28-year-old went at the BMF star Jorge Masvidal by posting a picture of ‘Gamebred’ getting choked out from an older fight.

He followed it up with a question for Masvidal, “what’s wrong with you boy ?”.

‘Borz’ might have felt compelled to attack them after the recent remarks from them during interviews. Similar to Pereira, Masvidal too had shared his not-so-pleasant opinions about Chimaev earlier.

Fans attack Chimaev over his outburst

Not surprisingly, fans of the Brazilian and Masvidal came out bashing the Chechen over his tweets. Although he did have some support from his fans, a majority of them called out Chimaev for his remarks.

He even got dubbed an ‘internet gangsta’ in one of the tweets.

Someone pointed out his inactivity, and how he was once considered a huge prospect.

Pereira’s fans reminded Chimaev of what would happen if they fought.

A few fans appeared annoyed at his regular callouts of the champ despite not having fought a contender in the division.

Even Masvidal supporters pointed out how the veteran was still active unlike him.

Another tweet made a reference to news about Chimaev’s retirement during the Covid era.

Despite the hate thrown at him, there’s no denying that Chimaev could eventually find himself facing the middleweight champ at some point in the future. As for Masvidal, a win in his next fight could also open up multiple possibilities, with a fight against ‘Borz’ being one of them.
