Colby Covington is one of the most polarizing figures in the UFC. Some fight fans love him for his entertaining, trash-talking persona. However, some reciprocate the same amount of dislike for the welterweight as they believe he gets too personal in disrespecting his opponents.
However, in a video that has recently been making waves on the internet, fans witness a strange side of the banter-filled fighter. In the video, Covington can be seen interacting with his fans as he sports his interim UFC welterweight champion strap he won against Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 225.

When the fan asked ‘Chaos’ to let him have the belt for a photo, Covington happily obliged, and then the fan asked him for some advice for an upcoming fighter. “You gotta commit your whole life to it, you know. You gotta make the sacrifices daily, you know. Don’t just be a fighter for a couple of months at a time, be a fighter year around. You know I had to level up, and I had to get ahead of the curve,” Covington advised the fan.

“Guys were out partying on the weekends, I was in the gym. I was waking up early. I was eating good food, I wasn’t drinking alcohol. Staying dedicated, so. Find a way, even if, you know, maybe it’s not the conventional way, find a way around, find a shortcut. Find a way to get it done,” Covington continued.
It was a strange side that even the fan was surprised to see. Hence, out of habit, he asked his idol to show more of this ‘humble’ side. However, Colby Covington had a rather saddening response, as he said, “That’s not what sells”
