However, it seems that the promotion has unanimously decided to can͏c͏el the ͏event. ͏The promotio͏n to͏ok ͏to their Instagra͏m to announce th͏e ͏news and issued an ap͏olo͏gy to th͏e fans who had bought ͏tickets for t͏he press confere͏nce. It must be noted that the 3Arena, which reportedly had a capacity of 8000, was sold out to witness McGregor’s comeback, but there was nothing but disappointment. McGregor rarely cancels his press conferences and thus there are numerous rumors that the 35-year-old dodged the press conference citing injuries and party, but what is the truth?

The UFC official Instagram page announced, “The #UFC303 press conference scheduled for Monday, June 3rd in Dublin, Ireland at 3Arena has been postponed until further notice. We sincerely apologize to all the fans who were planning to attend. When we have further information on a new date and time, we will share it immediately. – Thank you.” After the news was announced, it spread like wildfire and the entire MMA lobby was against the former dual-weight champion for abandoning the conference.

This constant callout by the MMA community forced Conor McGregor to add a statement. The former dual weight champion took to his X handle to state, “In consultation with the UFC, todays press conference was cancelled due to a series of obstacles outside of our control. I apologize to my Irish fans, and fans around the world, for the inconvenience and appreciate all your passion and support. I can’t wait to put on the greatest all-time show in the Octagon.

‘The Notorious’ hasn’t yet revealed why the press conference was canceled. Still, the MMA community has their speculations about it, and one of those speculations is that Conor McGregor has sustained a minor injury, which is why he is running away from the press conference. The UFC legend Daniel Cormier is also worried about the recent developments as he warned the fans to be prepared for the worst.

“You know who Dana White doesn’t like letting down? The fans. When the press conference was canceled, you saw people on Twitter (X), people on Instagram speaking of having their travel, being prepared to go and watch, flying over to Dublin to watch a presser. That’s disappointment. So, to me, it feels like this is a big deal,” Cormier mentioned on the ‘Good Guy/Bad Guy’ podcast.
