Legendary MMA analyst and impressionist extraordinaire, MMA Guru, recently came out with a video, where he raised questions about UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones‘s sexuality. Using a series of publicly available videos and photos of the GOAT contender, Guru concluded that ‘Bones’, who is married and has two daughters with his wife, is homosexual.

While Guru fans will know this was par for the course for the bearded YouTuber, who makes some of the most hilarious UFC content, and is not taken very seriously by a section of UFC fans, this seems not to be the case for Jon Jones. The two-division champion, without directly referencing MMA Guru or his claims, tweeted about how “a random loser with a microphone in his basement” can manufacture narratives that young UFC fans are willing to believe.

“Crazy that we live in the world where influencers can persuade the minds of the boys on the Internet. Literally some random loser with a microphone in his basement. People can just say anything they want these days, I find it fascinating,” Jones wrote.

Predictably, Jones received a lot of support in the replies, including from a controversial internet figure Andrew Tate.

Andrew Tate comes out in support of Jon Jones amidst MMA Guru controversy

Andrew Tate, who, along with his brother Tristan, is facing several legal charges in Romania and is scheduled to go to trial soon. He replied to Jones’s tweet, expressing support for him and, perhaps in a reference to the position he finds himself in, accused their critics of lying by omission.

“Correct. And they lie by omission.

They omit all the evidence against their narrative- 999 pieces of it.

Find one which semi supports their bullshit, and they amplify it.

Peasants who fear the arena, never enjoy the shade of an olive tree.

Their hearts are poor,” Tate tweeted.

Jones, of course, is out of action, recovering from a torn pec he suffered in the run-up to his (rescheduled) UFC 295 clash against Stipe Miocic last November. Jones, of course, is no stranger to controversy. Just recently, the heavyweight champion found himself in legal trouble yet again, being accused of giving death threats to a drug testing official. However, this recent controversy with MMA Guru is very bizarre, to say the least.

It is worth noting, however, that Jones did feel some type of way about the accusations, which seem to getting to him, as ignoring Guru and the strange accusations would probably have been the best move. With his thinly veiled dig at the rib-tickling MMA commentator, Jones has only added further fuel to the fire.
