Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg do not like each other. They have been going back and forth publicly on social media over the last few years. This culminated in a potential super-fight between the two tech titans. Elon jokingly agreed to fight Zuckerberg in a reply to a user’s comments on Twitter. Zuckerberg accepted the challenge and told Musk to “send me location”.

Unfortunately, what could have been the “biggest fight in the history of the world” according to UFC boss Dana White, has been called off. But, this doesn’t mean the bad blood between the two richest men in the world is over. In a fresh salvo, Musk took to Twitter and accused the Zuckerberg-founded Meta of serious misconduct.

Musk accused social media giant Meta of manipulating its users worldwide and stated this was the reason they won’t make their algorithms open to the public. “Facebook is manipulating the public almost everywhere on Earth. That is why they won’t open source their algorithm,” he wrote.

The Tesla CEO was responding to a tweet from journalist Michael Shellenberger. They had referenced an article from the Sky News Australia website that was an investigation into alleged misconduct on the part of Meta fact-checkers during a referendum in the country.

“Mark Zuckerberg says Facebook has independent fact checkers, is open to all perspectives, and doesn’t interfere in elections. But a new investigation found Facebook is funding activists demanding censorship of their enemies during a national referendum.” Shellenberger wrote.

The main reason for the fight falling through seems to be Musk’s inertia. Zuckerberg came out with a post on Threads earlier this month. He stated that Musk was not serious, as he had been offered a date by Zuckerberg but the Twitter owner was dragging his foot. He said he would “focus on competing with people who take the sport seriously”.

“I think we can all agree Elon isn’t serious and it’s time to move on. I offered a real date. Dana White offered to make this a legit competition for charity. Elon won’t confirm a date, then says he needs surgery, and now asks to do a practice round in my backyard instead,” Zuckerberg wrote in a post on Threads.

Their fight may have been called off for the time being. But, their feud shows no signs of subsiding. Perhaps, we might see the two fight in a cage in the future. But, the chances for that do not seem very good at the moment.
