But what caught the attention of MMA fans was Perez’s claiming to have been attacked by a fellow bantamweight fighter, Joselyne Edwards, at the UFC PI. However, longtime MMA manager Alex Davis had a different take on the incident.

Alex Davis spills the truth about behind the black eye of Ailin Perez

‘MMA Mania‘ recently interviewed Alex Davis, who revealed what went down during the incident involving Ailin Perez and Joselyne Edwards. He claimed that he witnessed that the Argentine fighter and her coach, Javier Oyarzabal, were on top of Joselyne Edwards. Moreover, Perez’s coach had the Panamanian fighter in a rear-naked choke hold as Davis tried to intervene.

Thereafter, Alex Davis happened to go back to the UFC event’s hotel. There, he unexpectedly bumped into Javier Oyarzabal. Davis tweeted, “This is the truth from the point that I was involved. I just ran into Javier Oyarzabal at the event hotel.” However, Oyarzabal was not alone.

Ailin Perez’s coach had an entourage with him when he confronted Alex Davis for speaking out about the incident. He accused the longtime MMA manager of lying and tried to intimidate him. Davis further added, “This guy confronted me with his group of friends trying to call me a liar, trying to scare me! You are a coward, you have no business being among us!”

Furthermore, Javier Oyarzabal also made fun of Alex Davis for being old, claiming that he should avoid getting into trouble with people. But he did not care about what Ailin Perez’s coach had to say and sent him a stern message. “I am told old to be fighting sc*mbags in hotel hallways! But f** you you a**hole,” said Davis. Meanwhile, Joselyne Edwards also provided her account of the incident to ‘MMA Mania’.

Perez’s coach attacked Joselyn Edwards from behind

The Panamanian fighter mentioned that she was engaged in a fight with Ailin Perez when the latter’s coach launched a sneak attack from behind. Moreover, Javier Oyarzabal was strangling Joselyne Edwards, allowing Perez to hit her and the situation became a 2-on-1 fight. She said, “While we were fighting, her coach attacked me from behind. He was strangling me so that Ailin would hit me.”

The fight would stop until Alex Davis’s intervention. Also, Joselyne Edwards had recently had surgery on her right hand. She is not a hundred percent yet. This is why, Edwards said, she was unable to properly defend herself against Ailin Perez and her coach. However, Davis’s interference made sure that things did not turn out too ugly for either of the parties.
