A Physician, Dr. Mate, whose latest book ‘The Myth of Normal’ is available now, came for a chat with UFC commentator Joe Rogan on episode #1869 of Spotify’s number one podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience.
The 78-year-old wanted Joe Rogan’s opinion on a story he conveyed.
“If I told you about a four-year-old who is bullied by neighborhood kids… one of them runs into the house to their mom and say for protection. And the mom said to her, ‘there is no room for cowards in this house. Now, you get out and deal with it.’ How would you see that?”
The 55-year-old podcaster responded, “Well, it’s abusive.”
The guest asked again to assure that Rogan found it ‘abusive and traumatizing.’
The longtime UFC commentator said, “Yes.”
Dr. Mate revealed whose description he mentioned in his story
While the millionaire podcast host and millions of other listeners might have thought of the Physician’s story as some kind of example, the guest revealed it was – Hillary Clinton’s story from her bio.

“This story was told on public television in the United States in front of a cheering audience, millions of people watching on television at the Democratic convention in 2016 when Hillary Clinton was nominated… It was the voice of god: Morgan Freeman who actually narrated this bio documentary about her.”
“And this is presented as a wonderful example of resilience building. And so I’m saying traumas are so normalized in this culture that even when this horrific incident is being depicted on television, in front of millions of people. People think this is wonderful,” said Dr. Mate.
